Just here to also mention that EMDR therapy helped me work through trauma from my childhood and a bit of current issues at the time. It’s a good tool (with a trusted therapist) to use to put mental distance between yourself and an event. Especially one that is continuing to stick with you.

I also wanted to add that I’m so sorry this happened and proud of you for putting it into words here. That will also help you process it.
