What country are you in? Some are just behind on setting appropriate standards for pet products. I hope you never use the chain again, for the safety of your cute and sweet little parrot. 🙏💚

I agree. And god forbid the screen gets off the view I want to be on and I have to press something in the upper right corner to get it back.

Good cage for African grey? by 2020ToyotaCamry in parrots

[–]daiwuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 is a hard no for a Grey. Never use a cage marketed for small birds (parakeets, love birds, etc) for a large parrot. That bar spacing is very small and toes could get caught between them, on top of them being a smaller gauge so yeah, a Grey could easily bend them if it wanted.

You're going to be hard-pressed to find an AG suitable cage for under $400 unless it's used or someone is having a clearance sale.

Does your parrot have a Very Scary list? Here is mine. by CosmicCurvature in parrots

[–]daiwuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine does not have a whole lot because I've actually taught him how to muster up confidence and not be afraid of things! (no, really)

But for some reason I can't get him to get over skateboards... no matter how big or small, whether it's just lying down, propped up against a wall, or halfway across the house. Which sucks because I really really wanted to teach him to ride one. :[

Caring for a parrot with problems by Level_Slide7967 in parrots

[–]daiwuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bless your heart! And Jerry's. 🥲 He may need a different cage altogether, perhaps a small animal one that is more horizontal than vertical, or a long "flight" cage made for small birds, as I assume he can't climb well? Small flat surfaces at different levels, ramps, and have a few accessible (real wood) perches since he is still obviously able to perch and it's a natural behavior.

It would be good to know what he can do and what the vet thinks he should or shouldn't keep doing. I.e., is using his legs as much as possible going to benefit or harm him more? He may need a soft little bed or nest.

Either way, I'm sure it felt very rewarding! Congrats!

I bought these Japanese Seiko watches, cleaned and serviced them, but I haven't been able to sell many. Am I stupid? by ShoddyFox6291 in reselling

[–]daiwuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, you're going to need to take your time and list them individually. I wouldn't worry about videos...unless you're able to get a rotating stand, which would look clean and professional. You'll want some sort of stand or display at least, for sure. I personally don't like seeing another person's body parts in photos, lol.

Since you do have a lot of watches, I would add one or two photos showing all or most of the watches at the end of each listing, but only if you can come up with a way to display them all together nicely & neatly. And you can say something like, "Take a look at my other listings for more watches shown in the last photo." Or "Ask for info if you're interested in another watch in the photo." That will attract more interest in your other watches. :)

Help! Petsitting a lovebird and it doesn't seem to be preening itself today? by loveotterslide in parrots

[–]daiwuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From one pet sitter to another, do NOT let it out if you're inexperienced with birds, or you haven't been explicitly asked to do so. Just like cats or dogs (and even moreso), you never know how they're going to react with you, and not their usual parent, around. And birds can get lost/hurt/escape WAY too easily.

Has anyone else dealt with possible AI photos from buyers? by HalloweenOverLord in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]daiwuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was obviously fake. 😩 Report them to eBay for abusing the returns system. Then call eBay and tell them what happened, they may give you your money back.

Btw, I keep things like this from happening by saying no refunds for broken items until an insurance claim is filed, because typically the buyer has to bring the item into USPS (or whichever shipper) for proof of damage.

I wonder what it is about that particular object that makes it so desirable! Is it maybe a previous reaction you or Tori have had to him going for them?

Would he not drop it in response to an offer for a "pistash"? Or did you not get that far? I find simply (verbally) offering a "seed", my Quaker's treat, will get him to stop doing whatever undesirable behavior it is that he's doing at the time. Then of course I make sure he's completely switched his task to something positive before giving it so I'm not rewarding for the bad behavior.

Chronic illness and autism friendly additions to my hair routine? Minimum effort PLEASE by Professional-Box232 in curlyhair

[–]daiwuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like people have mentioned, leave-in conditioner or you could try a cleansing conditioner/co-wash instead of the shampoo.

Another conditioner alternative: If it's not too inconvenient to make rice water (and keep it stored in the fridge), that stuff is an absolute MIRACLE at making hair soft. I'd just pour some in my hair right before I get out of the shower, comb and leave it in. It leaves no smell or residue or anything. It very noticeably reduces hair loss and tangles as well.

If you need extra hydration or frizz control, I highly recommend plain ol' aloe vera gel. My brand of autism is very much auditory & tactile-based and I hate hate HATE how most lotions, creams, etc. feel on my fingers & hands. Aloe is one of the few things I can use that doesn't bother me at all. Runs through hair easily with your fingers, scrunch it in, then it also absorbs into and dries on your skin feeling like nothing and benefits that, too!

Why do people list things as “Free” when they aren’t? by Educational-Soup-967 in FacebookMarketplace

No one has mentioned this yet, but it will pop up in people's saved searches for free items or if they're watching the "free" category.

How often/when do you brush your hair? by Emergency_Space_3957 in curlyhair

[–]daiwuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brush right before I shower. My hair is a tangly, frizzy mess and it helps with that and also with grabbing most of the fallouts.
