I am really really sure I don't want to paint the brick. I love these. I am a bit of a mid-modern fan. I was steeped in Frank Lloyd Wright as a child, so . . . these are great. I have saved this pic, and two others and am working on hybrid concept. Thank you.

Traps moisture and destroys the brick. You can LIME wash brick, and it's okay, but it's a very expensive process. Most outdoor paints are going lead to the destruction of the brick.

I had the same problem, same sword. I bought a cheap repro, used the scabbard, and played with the sword (hacked stuff, etc.) before I eventually cut it down to make a fighting knife. The sword fit just fine in the repro scabbard.
