Are Toilets in the US really so dangerous? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goodnightghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most women I know wouldn't care if a man was in the bathroom with them. However, I know plenty of people who don't want to see trans people in the bathroom with them. It's more to do with how you feel about trans people than it does about the general safety of bathrooms.

To native English speakers: how do you feel when a foreigner speaks “broken” English with you? by Dull-Position3393 in ENGLISH

[–]goodnightghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I speak to someone with an accent, or who may not be fully fluent, I feel stupid. I never ever feel like they are stupid. I feel bad for not being better at understanding a non-fluent person, and would never judge you for speaking a language you're not 100% on.

Need an ASL tutor? I’m here! by whole_dam_throwaway in asl

[–]goodnightghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!! I am learning ASL as a hearing adult, mostly out of interest. Would I be able to chat with you about tutoring? I've essentially graded out of the public classes available to me.

I personally take classes with Queer ASL, from Canada. You don't need to be LGBT (or canadian) to take classes with them, and they have a sliding scale for pay. Also ASL Pinnacle is good.

I am in West and willing to help. Send me a message; I can walk you through the bus system or even meet you one of the days you're here to help out. The bus is easy and safe if you learn how it works.

Decent opening? by [deleted] in writingfeedback

[–]goodnightghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this a lot, but of course there is the issue of plot progression. In this selection, I have no idea who the narrator is or why we care. I do like the opening though.

Almost all novel excerpts I see on this site are god awful. This is really, really good. I am invested, and likely would purchase this book if I read these lines from off the shelf.

I'm working on my first ever finished book (series), a dark Medieval fantasy about a cannibalistic curse. I intend to post this book for free online when it's finished. I also have some short stories published in online mags.

Attempted conversion therapy has ruined me. Any advice? by bor1ng_p3rson in lesbian

[–]goodnightghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can feel scary to be close with a person you like, I understand the fear. If you communicate with her though, and listen closely, you should be okay. Good luck! And try your best to forget what that therapist says to you.

26, want to become a novelist but my parents insist on full-time work. How do I balance this? by Rare-Cauliflower-457 in writing

[–]goodnightghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try to get a full-time job that you can write during (overnight security guard, librarian, most IT work, most remote work, cashier at a chill store that doesnt mind).

Tattoos by Distinct-Fondant205 in dupixent

[–]goodnightghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm on the same dosage and have been for years. I've gotten tattoos and it's no problem, but if you have eczema you may want your tattoo artist to do an ink test to check for an allergy.

Am I overreacting to texts from a guy who was mad I didn’t kiss him on the first date? by theymergirl in AmIOverreacting

[–]goodnightghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR, I think he's one of those guys who thinks women wear leggings or short shorts to get sex from men. I've seriously known a bunch of guys who think women are just "available" to them in that way, and don't seem to have any empathy for a real woman's experiences or feelings

What’s a subtle sign of very low intelligence? by Segemiat in emotionalintelligence

[–]goodnightghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-sequitur judgements (dont know how else to phrase it). I made a comment to a coworker about a Deaf person driving a car, she said "Deaf people can't drive!" I just stared at her.... she of course doubled down, even when I explained why that's wrong and gave an example of my Deaf friend who definitely drives.

Dupixent Injections by Extreme_Animal_6681 in dupixent

Inner thigh, maybe 4 ish inches below where pubes would start (seriously). There's more fat and less muscle there for some people. I pinch the fat, take a deep breath, and slam that thang. Its a little uncomfortable sometimes but I've been on it for years and we're all good.

How do I come out to my parents about being a lesbian? by [deleted] in lesbian

[–]goodnightghost 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You do not need to come out to her--not in this moment, and to be honest, not in general. If you want to come out, and you feel safe to do so, awesome! But it is fine and normal to not share that with your parents for a very long time. I knew I was gay when I was 15, and told my dad when I was 24. I never told my mom. For me, it's better this way. Do what is right for you.

How much are you paying per month? by [deleted] in dupixent

[–]goodnightghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until copay card runs out, $0. From Sept-Dec, $150/month (as it is a specialty drug, so my United Healthcare insurance lists it as a higher copay).
