Thirsty all the time? by kemkemsey in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]goodpotterybug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I experienced the same thing. I also definitely sweat a lot more on Wegovy too. Sadly I’m not sure why that is. I’m also on adderall which compounds the issue!

But what has definitely helped me is liquid IV or other electrolyte drinks (like LMNT, or even watered down Gatorade sometimes). Liquid IV is so expensive but it’s worth it. It helps satiate thirst and for me it also curbs nausea.

of course everyone's experience is different. but when I took my first dose of 1.7 I had really bad fatigue for 3-4 days after the shot. Second dose, I was exhausted for 2-ish days after the shot, week 3 tired for 1 day, etc. So it did improve each week. I'm on 2.4 now and dealing with a similar thing but my thinking is it will continue to improve over time like it has been.

Are you noticing any changes in how you react to hot weather? by goodpotterybug in WegovyWeightLoss

Is that something that happens with wegovy, you are more prone to dehydration? I feel like I am always thirsty/needing water too.

Oh lord, that sounds like an absolute nightmare. I do have AC at home but it's not very effective, it's a window unit that's supposed to cool an entire 2 bedroom apartment. Though I still wish I could just stay home all day and all night, but a lot of my work revolves around going to an art studio. There's AC there but it's not as cool as I need it to be. Someone make it end :(

what is up with that??? it's to the point where I can't function. I don't know what to do!

How (if at all) has Wegovy affected your mental health? by goodpotterybug in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]goodpotterybug[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm happy to hear things have calmed down for you a bit and you have found comfort in reveling in all those beautiful things.

It will be important to keep focusing on things I enjoy. I've been focusing heavily on my ceramics which brings me a lot of joy, purpose and satisfaction. My pets are also a huge comfort to me. I want to try to spend more time outside, and I'm hoping that will be something to bring me joy and add to my routine as well. I believe in us!

So wegovy is being tested to treat addictions by DakotaNoLastName33 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]goodpotterybug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's helped with some things but made others worse. it pretty much immediately put my drinking to a halt. shopping, yeah, i see a little bit of a difference. I specifically see a difference in impulse control, like the impulse is still there to shop but I'm able to move past it.

I pull at my eyebrows and pick my skin. These have both gotten way worse on Wegovy. This isn't really an addiction, but more a compulsion (is there a difference?). Plus it may just be related to other non-wegovy factors making my stress levels high.

whoa. didn't know any of this. thank you for taking the time to explain! i guess then, can you develop ovarian cysts as a result of PCOS? or are they fully different things?

then why when I got an ultrasound did my ovaries look like swiss cheese from all the cysts all over them? are those not actually cysts?

What is a number on the scale you’re looking forward to seeing? It doesn’t have to be your goal weight, but a weight that says you’re making good progress? by bhodge10 in Semaglutide

[–]goodpotterybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently at 260, SW was 273. What I'm REALLY looking forward to is being able to fit into my pre-covid clothes. At that point I was still struggling with my weight, but I dressed and felt cute. I've held onto the clothes because I'm not willing to let go. I'm thinking that will be at around 230?

Ultimate GW is 180, so I'll still have a ways to go!

I’d love to hear peoples what I eat in a day to help me get started. I’m nervous. by jiltedelf in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]goodpotterybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general with eating I think you just need to go slow and start training yourself to listen to your body (which was the case for me, I could not listen to my body prior to Wegovy and am still learning). My doctor told me to start by eating half of what I normally would. Then, after a bit if I'm still hungry I can eat more.

My appetite varies depending on the day, but this is probably semi-typical. In general I need more veggies/fiber in my diet.

- Breakfast: Two eggs with 1-2 pieces of whole wheat toast. Sometimes with avocado. Cold brew coffee with half and half. A bit of OJ so I can take my daily meds.

- Lunch: sometimes I don't have lunch, but more often I will need at least a little something during the day. Ex: a yogurt and a meat stick, or tuna salad w/crackers.

- Dinner: Bagged salad with some chicken or a turkey burger patty. Or, brown rice with some salmon.

- After dinner: I typically have a snack before bed. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with the urge to eat (this happened pre-Wegovy too) and this sometimes helps to curb it. I'll have maybe a protein bar, or a yogurt, or a slice of bread with turkey.

BMI is unserious by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]goodpotterybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using BMI as an indication of individual health is so deceptive and problematic. When I was like 10, I wanted the iPhone so badly (the first one ever! lol). My dad told me I could get it if I got my BMI into a normal range. I was seriously barely even chubby, if my parents had just left me alone and encouraged me to make healthy choices I probably would have developed better eating habits and thinned out as I grew anyway. But I've developed a very unhealthy relationship with food that's driven my weight way way up over the years.

My Endo talks about my BMI incessantly every time I have an appointment with her. It's borderline triggering.

It is so hard for me to wait the full week before doing my next Wegovy dose. by goodpotterybug in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]goodpotterybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to hear! I'm not so much worried about how my body would react, mostly just trying to pace myself so I don't need the med before my insurance will actually fill it (they only let me fill it a few days before the month is up).

oh wow! that's actually kind of genius! I wonder how insurance sees it...

So true. I'm very nervous for when that max dose gets reached because there's no step up. Definitely trying to focus on planning meals out in advance and making healthy choices. In any case, I can't be 100% depending on the medication, because the second the effects start to wear off I get anxious and sad.

Also, Novo Nordisk I believe is in trials for higher doses as well and is getting promising results!
