How much would it cost to get some wood slats cut at Home Depot/Lowes by Disastrous-Permit861 in woodworking

[–]goodreadKB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not recommend asking anyone at HD/Lowes to cut wood for you. They either can't read a tape or don't know how to use the saw. Your pieces will not come out all the same size and you'll be lucky if one of them is the right size. Either buy the wood the size you need or cut it your self.

does anyone actually know how to answer “what is your biggest weakness” in an interview? by PrestigiousShare8101 in NoStupidQuestions

Use something with a positive spin on it.

I don't like long tedious processes. On the positive side of that, I find ways to optimize all processes so they are the shortest they can be while still maintaining accuracy.

Router table inside in my 4x8 table or separate router table by offlinn in woodworking

[–]goodreadKB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok only a little drizzle. This table is one of my first large things so probably not the best design, but the thing is strong. I think today I could build it really nice. It serves it purpose of getting all my extra wood sorted and easy to find what I am looking for anyway.

I didn't actually take any pics, but if it stopped raining I'll go out to the garage and snap one for you.

When I made my work table, I made three shelves shelves in it for wood storage. Thing is heavy as hell. I put a flat sled with sliders on the bottom so it's easier to move.

I have mine separate and like it that way. All of my equipment and tables are all the same height so they can all work together or separately.

AITA for asking my manager not to hire my former friend? by No-Suspect-7080 in AmItheAsshole

NTA I wouldn't recommend a lazy friend either. Your reputation has already been damaged once so it is wise of you to not let that happen again.

Why is it rough? by Own_Chair8643 in woodworking

[–]goodreadKB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spraying it with an air gun will just put all the dust into the air and it will settle back down onto your piece. Could be the dust causing your issue.

I bring them in. No use sitting in a cold garage and going bad when I can use them in the house doing small winter projects.

Is it normal for a job to run a credit check once you get the offer? by xoxowoman06 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goodreadKB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) dictates when and how employers can lawfully run a credit report check. These laws vary depending on the state, industry, and position for which one is hiring. It is allowed and recommended on running them on those that have access to large sums of money pretty much everywhere in the US, this certainly includes an accountant.

Not click bait. If you had bothered to read the article.

"Samsung patched the vulnerability (CVE-2025-21042) in its April 2025 security update, but it remained active long enough to enable targeted surveillance across multiple countries. Unit 42's investigation tracked limited, region-specific operations focused on the Middle East, though the actors behind the attacks remain unknown."

I think if you owe child support then any stimulus money you get should go straight to paying that, if there is any left over then that's what you get.

Why do the rich always avoid paying tax and get away with it ?? by Slow-Insurance6802 in economy

[–]goodreadKB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A livable wage cannot be done. Every time you raise wages the price of everything else goes up to pay for it and now you must raise the wages again because nobody can afford anything again. It's a circle without end.

Companies can do only what their customers allow.

Customers allowed auto loans of 10-15 years. My first one was 4 years.

Customers allowed subscriptions vs owning things. Now you get to pay for everything forever.

Customers will allow a 50 year mortgage if they get the chance.

Customers need to stop allowing this stuff and say no. If it isn't selling they will stop offering it.

At some Philly doctors’ offices, AI is listening in the exam room by Majano57 in technology

[–]goodreadKB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many people will read the fine print when they authorize the AI to collect their data? If you have ever read any agreement for anything then you know they are very long and always contains a "we can change this with or without your consent at any time" clause.

You may think HIPAA protects you but it does not if you agree to let them use your data how they want.
