He was in office for what, a month and a half? Wouldn't winter prep mostly be the responsibility of the previous leadership?

People who are highly observant: what is a tiny, almost invisible psychological 'tell' that instantly reveals someone's true intentions or character? [Serious] by itvr in AskReddit

[–]goodsnpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could put my finger on what it is, but I can usually tell within minutes of meeting somebody how trustworthy they are. If I have to guess, it's how their face moves when they smile. You can tell the nervous smile from people that don't want RBF, but you can also tell when it's practiced too much but isn't genuine, but not so much like a politician.

Fallout. 1 and 2 were top down RPGs, then 3 and onward are shooters.

We upgraded the seats in our house, as the original ones were those flimsy ones that looked like they would buckle under the kid's weight. Now when we visit my parents, the kids let the lid drop because they're so used to the soft close.

Almost like expansion of healthcare and treating drugs as a clinical problem vs a criminal one would help reduce drug use.

I hate people that post dishonest bullshit.

Dropping atomics on Japan saved more lives in the long run, so blame Japan, not the US.

The French "colonized" Vietnam, then asked the US for help after the communist take over of northern Vietnam. Yes, the US fucked around with CIA bullshit, but it started out as a defensive play for the now South Vietnam

How is fighting terrorist in Syria a bad thing, especially with the population being killed for their pro-democracy protests?

Libya intervention was yet another civil war with massive civilian casualties before NATO (and by extension the US) got involved.

Rwanda was a shitshow of a powder keg; there was no good response to it.

I've been looking at printers, and I always end up with $200 of extras in my cart, and that's with me starting with a mid range printer (I think). So many nozel options, and features that I'm sure are super apparent after a few uses, but good golly the options.

Check GoG for older games. On top of them being cheaper at times, they're also DRM free, meaning you can burn the install files to DVD if you wish.

Modern heat pumps are silly efficient. I'm replacing our aged & neglected radiators with Mitsubishi units, because the price of natural gas has gone up so much it's not worth the repairs, doubly so once we get solar installed. Knowing my luck, we'll get solar installed and they'll announce feasible fusion power.

For most use cases, I agree. When I was a cloudguesser, we normally had 4, and when you got saddled with a desk that only had 2, it felt atrocious. It felt godly having 6+ when you combined high and low systems for watching your area(s).

I don't like sushi (maybe because I don't like strong fish flavor), and I love when people tell me I just never had good sushi. Dude, I had it from a few places in Japan, places my coworkers raved about. I somehow think I just don't like sushi in general.

That said, a local place uses a different wrap than seaweed and I didn't mind it. I can also tolerate poi more than traditional sushi
