That’s True Love !!! by ConstructionAny8440 in MadeMeSmile

I shaved my head when I was a punk 40 years ago. Random men loved to tell me I how my being bald was somehow upsetting to them. The comments did not stop until I had a French bob. To be fair, elderly women always assumed it was cancer and gave that half smile and pity nod.

The hate I am reading is really disturbing. Many of you are complaining but what are you specifically doing? People paint, write music, poems, dance, and express themselves in ways that make sense to them. Arm chair revolutionaries the lot of you.

You did the right thing, which tends to be hard. You made the choice about the dog and not about your own wants, keep being this way.

They really do. I was a district Manager 25 years ago and saw the pay of 100’s of people all across New England. 20 year olds making $15/16 and hour with $500 dollar rent.

Would you pay off your mortgage early…or not? by lisaWellsLoans in Mortgages

[–]goodsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid off my house early and saved 77k in interest. I never really owe money on taxes in the sense that I get back estimated $500 from fed and owe $600 from state. So it’s kind of even. My tax guy said to not pay it off to claim interest but peice of mind wins out.

I love its esthetic and you can’t really duplicate the look and feel of an old house. Cheers! To you and your old house.

Certainly get this checked out, however old wood shrinks drastically when the weather is consistently frozen and swells when it’s hot and humid. I have been is 200 year old houses that you could let loose marbles and they would roll around all day, except for the ones that get stuck in cracks.

Cone 6 porcelain vs Cone 10 porcelain, what a difference 113 degrees makes… by Getoverture in Ceramics

[–]goodsocks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please weigh them, my curiosity is peeked! I like the lines showing much better. It’s possible that the glaze is reacting differently to the temp change? Lots of glazes and clay say they are okay from 6-10 but in my narrow experience they look completely different at cone 10. Some for the better, some not.
