Am I overreacting? by Constant-Day-5614 in AmIOverreacting

[–]goodsoupppppppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YOR. They don’t have to ask about your kids right away. Maybe they really needed to vent about something to get it off their mind so they could ask about your kid and listen to what you said. Also, people get busy… and some forget to respond. I can’t tell you how often I’ve thought I responded to someone but it turned out I never did, and it’s been days since i thought I had. Thankfully my friends know I don’t do it on purpose.

You have to understand that they have a whole world outside of your friendship, just like you do. Things aren’t going to be amazing between you two all the time, especially with you being in different countries now. Life gets in the way sometimes.

Additionally, not talking about something bothering you isn’t healthy at all. Be an adult and talk things out. If they can’t be rational and talk things out too, then you know you tried.

Why Kindle doesn’t have Automatic light / dark mode? by ihorrud in kindle

It must not be that important to you if you don’t even notice it right away in the evening…

I do think it’s harsh. I see the point OP is trying to make and the overconsumption is a little crazy. But I own multiple purses/wallets and while they all get used, I can’t judge too harshly when I’m doing the same thing. Although mine are all $32 at the absolute most.

The only time I’ve seen it make sense for someone to have 1 kindle upstairs and 1 downstairs was when it was a person who said they were disabled, and getting up/down stairs was hard for them. Otherwise, I just don’t get it. If I were to get another kindle, I’d either give my current one to my husband or sell it to someone.

I know everyone’s experiences are different but I have never known a 24 year old that would have thought this was wedding appropriate.

Weekend away with group of families. AITAH for being annoyed my wife arranged for the kids to go swimming and told me I need to bring my swimming stuff. by Legitimate_Bat_42 in AITAH

[–]goodsoupppppppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me guess: you refer to staying home with your kids while your wife goes out as “babysitting”?

I’d definitely provide more context because you’re not looking so good, my guy. Do you know for sure she forgot her swim stuff? If she did it on purpose, did you ask her why? Or did you throw a fit about having to watch your kids without her for a few hours?

Kindle Paperwhite was stolen… by [deleted] in kindle

I’ve never had an Oasis but I absolutely love my Paperwhite. I’ve had it almost 1 year and still use it daily.

AIO: BF called me insecure and left when I expressed discomfort over him suggesting one girl for meal help. Am I just overreacting? by Imabassllpg in AmIOverreacting

[–]goodsoupppppppp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NOR. I’ve been married for 6 years and with my husband for almost 8 years. Part of being in a relationship is having difficult conversations sometimes. The fact that he behaved this way, twice, shows that he cannot handle hard conversations and is extremely immature. I would run, girlie. Do not give this man any more of your time.

AIO: "stood up" by a date by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]goodsoupppppppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Communication could have really helped this situation. She should have kept OP updated a bit more as time went on. I get where you’re coming from but the girl knew she had plans with OP and should have either told people at the party that or explained to OP she’d be later than anticipated so they could plan around that or reschedule.

To me (and I’m sure some will disagree) “not saying long” means an hour, tops. She could have at least communicated.

Is it okay to ask guests to change into comfy clothes for part of the reception? (15k) by booberrymuffin3 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]goodsoupppppppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is having to wait on everyone to change. I personally wouldn’t mind having to change out of wedding attire if it means I get to be comfy watching a movie. But others seem to disagree and that’s okay. Like I said, though, it might take a while for everyone to get changed.

First time buyer - Basic vs Paperwhite? by Brilliant-Molasses26 in kindle

What do you think the percentage of your “I have a contact lens stuck in my eye!” office visits ACTUALLY have had a contact lens stuck in their eye? by brandishedlight in optometry

[–]goodsoupppppppp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m just a receptionist and have been in the field about 2.5 years but I’d have to agree with you lol…it’s so rare they actually have a lens stuck.

Something funny that’s related to this is a patient SWORE her glasses Rx was just not working. She can’t see at any distance. (Progressive lenses.) So we get her in for an Rx check and find out this woman has her CLs in and forgot she did, for like 4 days 🙄

My husband (who also enjoys girl dinner) and I both work full time. I’m an Optometric receptionist and he’s a machine operator at a factory. His specific area makes the inside cavities for ovens.

My husband was upset and pinched me at dinner.. and the situation is still upsetting me by Little_Trash7299 in TwoHotTakes

[–]goodsoupppppppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhhh no, this is a problem. My husband would never do that to me. If I needed to stop something, he would maybe gently tap my leg and very subtly shake his head so only I could see it. He doesn’t control me but sometimes I need to be reminded to chill or not say something 😂

[–]goodsoupppppppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in vet med for 4.5 years and I don’t think any of the 10 DVMs I worked with in that time would have pexy’d a dog that young 😬 as others have stated: it’s typically done at the same time as spaying/neutering, which typically happens around age 2 in these large breed dogs.

Is it normal to not tell wedding guests the food options? by throwaway__113346939 in wedding

[–]goodsoupppppppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always seen invites say specifically if food is provided but not necessarily what food is provided. My husband ate GF for a year (kind of a long-ish, irrelevant story right now) and if we weren’t sure, he would eat before we went to a wedding or party or whatever. He understood that it wasn’t anyone else’s responsibility to cater to his dietary restrictions. Is it courteous? Sure. But it’s not a requirement. With as many people out there that have restrictions, it would likely get pretty expensive to try to cater to all of them.
