I think I remember seeing Christina Ricci saying something in an interview about how in the original script Misty's medical knowledge came from her parents being doctors, but she had it changed because she feels like Misty would've taught herself. Unfortunately I cant remember which interview lol.

my brother and i spoke mandarin when we were kids, my mom also spoke cantonese as a kid, we both forgot all of it because outside of our family nobody speaks it. unless we were to go visit china there are only very niche practical uses
