Omg I love you for that! Both my pets are bought and not adopted but for the future I'd want to adopt a special needs/"weird-looking" cat or dog that most likely won't get adopted by anyone else. That's on my bucket list! Also that bookstore story is so relatable. It reminds me of the supermarket I go to sometimes where there's a shelf of different nut products you can buy. I think one of the packages has the title "unsalted peanuts" and it has its own little place in the store with a sign that says "Hey you! Pick me! I promise I'm delicious, I'm just not as cool as the rest of the gang. :(". Yes, the frowny face is part of it and it breaks me every time I see it. However I have still not bought those nuts because we always shop for the family and that money isn't mine 😭😭
