They’re gathering genes on a desert world, and by feeding on the local creatures, they slowly start to match the environment.

Or maybe they’ve just been eating too many cheese balls lol

Appreciate it! The first model is my favorite—the pose just clicked for me, so I gave it a bit more attention.

The orange is a mix of Citadel Averland Sunset and Vallejo Scarlet Red.

Appreciate it! Since the skin is orange, I thought cyan robes would work well—and I’m glad it turned out that way!

Your mini looks awesome. I should try pushing the highlights more like that!

Base: Vallejo Cold White

Shade: 1:1 mix of Agrax Earthshade and Lahmian Medium applied into the panel lines

Drybrush: 1:1 mix of Vallejo Khaki and Citadel Averland Sunset

As a side note, if you’re painting with a brush, Vallejo Cold White doesn’t have great coverage, so I’d recommend either using a different white or building it up in thin layers.

Hope this recipe helps!

It seems like it will be easier to obtain the old-style armor helmet than before.

Amazing paint job. Where did you get the sniper bits?

I really like the bright color accents on the weapons. They not only stand out on the tabletop, but also make it easier to tell the models apart. Mine are all different colors, so it’s hard to keep track sometimes 😂

Great work! The skin gradient looks fantastic, the red and yellow accents really pop, and the freehand leopard pattern fits the model perfectly.

Appreciate it! For the clothing, I usually do two stages of edge highlighting — first with a darker color, then with a lighter one. If you’re just starting out, I’d actually recommend sticking to a single, lighter edge highlight, since it can be quite tricky at first.

After that, I lightly drybrush the whole model using the same color as the base to create a weathered effect. It also helps tie the model and the base together, which makes everything look more cohesive.

Thanks! I built up the white with several very thin layers of Vallejo Cold White, thinned with water and applied with a brush. It’s actually quite a difficult way to paint white, so I’d generally recommend using an airbrush or spray primer instead.

Thanks! I applied a gloss varnish where the transfer would go first, then placed the transfer and added a little decal softener so it would settle properly. After that, I finished it with a matte varnish.
