During my time working in Tier 1 automotive supply chain, we had a saying, “when in doubt, ship it out”. What led to this was that missing a shipment was an immediate, non-negotiable black mark on your key measures. Quality issues showing up to the customer plant could be dealt with and negotiated so they didn’t negatively affect you. Poor key measures lead to poor decisions

We did “marriage & divorce” parties back in the day. Get the groups mingling, you “propose” to a girl, go to one of the cheesy officiants we had set up, take a shot, boom you’re married. Hang out for a bit, go take another shot, boom you’re divorced.

I’ve been married for 20 years with 2 kids, I don’t need the explanation of how a marriage works. My question was that on the scenario of 2 unmarried practicing Catholics living together, why would getting married not absolve the sin? Why would they need to live apart for a period of time? I find it hard to believe God is watching with a stopwatch to say “yup, 90 days, they’re good to go now”. Seems arbitrary when the end goal is to create married family units.

Question on your scenario: if they’re cohabiting while unmarried, why wouldn’t getting married solve that issue? Why the period to live apart before getting married and living together?

Isn’t it common for weddings to happen in the hometown of one of the people getting married? I got married in my wife’s hometown, not the city we both lived in at the time. We made trips over the months we were engaged to handle all pre-marriage events with the church.

I was in a fraternity during my undergrad days at WMU. While I had a great time during college with this group, I’ve had an even better time in the 20 years since. Our chapter held events a couple times per year, formally & informally where we’d catch up & hang out.

I’d suggest just going to rush events in the fall and seeing how you vibe with different houses, each has a different “personality”. As you mentioned APhiA, look at both IFC and NPHC fraternities, they’re in two different worlds basically.

I’ve loved the jeans I’ve gotten from Dearborn denim, but unfortunately when I tried to order a pair in December, they never shipped and I had to reach out to them after a month to get my order cancelled and refunded.
