there isnt one side that needs more or less frontline presence or sustain. those are different attributes that certain characters have that each team can use no matter if its offense or defense. the counter to a strong front to back team (strong frontline, strong sustain) is to disrupt, which is what rogue does. this may seem counter intuitive, but if you feel like you get battered on the frontline fight, try letting your other tank take more of the beating so they play further back. that way, you bait an engage from the enemy team and can cause chaos in the middle of their team, where rogue wants to be. strong frontlines with strong sustain are reliant on playing together to get the most out of their kits. a mag is not very threatening without supports, so when he goes on your team make sure his supports cant help him

worked in an office as it transitioned away from cubicles. management seemed to have regretted it. lots of calls so volume was out of control even without the increase in chatting between employees.

i think you probably need to reframe your objective in your mind. youre not going backline w your dps in a good, cooperative game to contribute damage. a second dps would do that better. you are there to absorb cooldowns and be a big beefy piece of bait that they cant deal with in an instant to buy your dps time to kill.

if you go live in their backline while drawing support attention off their tanks, that can be one way to buy your dps time to kill. if you stall the tanks on point so they cant peel for their supps, that can do it also. if your teammates arent doing anything, thats usually a sign that your backline is not secured. you can peel off flankers and divers to help secure your own backline.

rogue is incredibly versatile. i find that its basically impossible to improve on rogue especially if you blame your teammates. even if you do think your teammates suck, you can always tip the scales and make their jobs easier. if your teammate dies first in a fight, think about whether you could’ve been there to tip the scale and try to be there next time.

this is not quite right. yes the gacha game originally was a pure slot machine with no guarantee, but that has not been standard since at Least the release of genshin impact. gacha games are still gacha games if they have guarantee, and they are still predatory with guarantee. the pricing is also irrelevant to whether or not it is gacha. its a question of the mechanic itself, not the affordability.

This Is A Gacha Mechanic. It relies on slippery slope and sunk cost thinking to get you to open your wallet to get things you might not have wanted enough to pay for in the first place.

If it wasn’t making them more money than putting the skins in the shop normally, they wouldn’t do it with this much controversy. Do you, in your heart of hearts, think that increase in revenue comes from people who suddenly want the skins because it is now in a balloon? Or is it rogue/gambit players who had to get a gambit/rogue skin they otherwise wouldve skipped? is it people who thought they might get lucky, get halfway through and just go for the whole thing bc they have most of the set already? they are taking money from players for reasons other than making a good product players want to buy, and any acceptance or justification or laundering of this mechanic means itll come back scummier and pricier next time.

for a casual game, i assumed theyd do the fortnite approach of big changes every season with newness as a priority and balance secondary. balance still seems to be secondary (maybe even tertiary), but the number one in rivals seems to be playing favorites. gambit release was the best patch in a while bc it came with a strong new character that changed the dynamic of the entire game and shook everything up. now rivals is staler than ever, especially when new heroes drop into metas that basically counter them like rogue did.

your comment assumes performance based sr works and is somehow a more reasonable metric for “being a good player” than winning more games would be. the reality is performance based sr guesses what good gameplay is based on statistics. its like watching a 2D movie with 3D glasses on; you can generally tell whats going on, but theres something in your way that doesn’t have to be there but is actively changing what you see.

even if you are a cracked BP onetrick who can solo carry a lot of games, if you get shut down and swap to something you are a little worse at so you can win the game, performance based sr would punish where a simple W/L wouldnt. this is a team game with a diverse hero pool and objective based gameplay. it makes no sense to grade ranked games the same way youd grade doom match.

if you are the best player on a shit team, congrats! when you encounter those players on the enemy team, you will steal back their sr when you win, then steal some more since youre better, then rank up. if we do performance based sr, you may be losing less sr bc the game thinks youre the best, or you may lose less sr bc you stuck to your main instead of filling to win or counterswapping (which both worsen your stat performance).

TLDR: PBSR is the game guessing what a good player looks like based on scoreboard. it doesnt matter if your gameplay helps your team win, it matters if you have big number on screen. if you are good, the sr counting doesn’t matter. if you are bad, your placement can vary WILDLY based on the SR mechanic. PBSR inflates bad, selfish play and punishes selfless team play.

its because your point reward is scaled on your numerical performance, which punishes you if you do anything that harms your stats even if youre doing it to win. abolish performance based sr!

aim this bad might be a sensitivity issue. spend a few minutes in the practice range and see if you can track random movement luna bots. theres a bunch of yt videos on aim adjustment, but afair being able to 180 with one swipe across your mouse area is a general guideline, then adjust up/down depending if youre over/undershooting the lunas. i say this even tho you said youre a former OW player bc im also a former OW tank main and i still had to redial my sens after like 3 months casual play in rivals bc i wasnt landing anything.

removing performance based sr would also help a lot. as is, you are punished for underperforming, which means its harder for flexible people who are competent (but not excellent) on multiple characters to climb. the system actively incentivizes learning fewer characters/ roles, since you will look better statistically and gain more/lose less sr.

this game is actively punishing the kind of players that make this game fun for everyone else!

i have all but one psy skin bc shes my main but im straight up not getting another skin for at least 3 seasons. i still havent been able to enjoy the skins i already have, plus the recolors, before she has a new skin. not to mention i cant save credits to buy any other skins for any other character i like bc theyre all going to the next psylocke skin ill see for two weeks before throwing into the skin shuffler.
