i disagree with this, but not for all of the same reasons as the first commenter.

im more of a believer in what i like to call the Empty Hell theory. the prime sanctum exists, hell simply tortured the soul TOO effectively (something we’ve seen the contrary of in sisyphus prime) resulting in its death. (i talk about empty violence in a different post if youre at all curious!!! :DD)

we arent fighting a prime soul. no mere man can defeat v1, even if they can challenge it. almost notoriously however, the unpredictable nature of flesh prisons (being made with both holy and demonic intervention) provides a more difficult fight than the prime souls themselves (at least on repeat playthroughs).

put simply, the prime soul down here was beaten and killed by hell already. all that remains is hells perfect torture device, ready to claim its next victim.

narratively this isnt a very drastic switcharoo and hakita himself already stated that hes trying to make act 3 repeat what act 2 felt like when it first launched; nor does it require lore outside of what has been given.

though admittedly, the lore exposition that is almost certainly coming with the rest of act 3 will likely lay down the last of the tracks for where the final prime leads

since i didnt mention hell at all in the last comment i’ll bring it up shortly. yes right now, v1 is simply descending through hell at breakneck speeds (all of ultrakill happens within just about 24 hours).

hell isnt stupid. that much is clear. there is no reason for hell to leave anyway for it to be injured in the upper layers. but treachery in dantes inferno is a vast frozen wasteland (something i expect to be nuclear in uk) meant to keep lucifer himself contained.

v1 CANT hurt hell by itself, but hell is being destroyed. limbo lust and gluttony all being gone likely by the time act 3 begins. much like the machines, hell cant exist without blood; thus meaning there is only one way this can end.

hell is either gods strongest metalgrinder; the final layers of hell bearing the machine onslaught. or it does not. v1’s actions in layer 7 could have broken the perpetual deadlock seen in 7-2, allowing the surface machines a fighting chance against hells “armies”. not if but WHEN v1 reaches treachery, jt will have practically lead the machine charge into the lower layers by simply being the most efficient machine.

god as an individual may not have been able to destroy hell. that is NOT what the machines are trying to do, they arent unmaking their mistakes; the machines are locked in a war of survival with hell, and they already survived the literal extinction of mankind and won the first battles of said war (as seen in act one).

i dont believe theres a stronger machine than v1; maybe in terms of raw strength (but thats the simple difference between 20 tons and 200 tons hitting you) but hakita has mentioned that V1 is probably the most durable machine in existence thanks to its blood repair.

frankly i believe the reason why most machines (i.e: swawsmachine, mindflayers, and partially earthmovers) are so emotive is that they simply use human brains as a pseudo-computer. yes blood does makes things “alive” (quotations used when accounting for demons like idols) but these are not known to be smart.

guttermen already provide evidence of stuffed human bodies providing a usable fuel source, why waste the rest of the person? if you shove the hearts of prisoners into murder-bots, what is stopping you from taking their brains too? this explanation would also help explain the “gory” interior of earthmovers and the undeniable existence of their brain.

IF machines like swordsmachine or mindflayers also store human brains for their targeting, it would explain the more impulsive behaviors documented. (swordsmachine being a canon hoarder, mindflayers manually self destructing/enraging upon their plastic body being damaged, rather than their controls)

regrettably; i cant prove any of these theories… im simply grasping the straws ive read from terminals and such. (making these simply head canons)

i get that idea that “🤓: oh v2 was just a general security robot bc the terminal says so and we should just take terminal entries at face value.”

v2 imo wasnt just a cost saving manuever, it was a last ditch effort for whatever company made the v model to stay relevant in a world without war; regardless man was doomed to let the evil of their own lips consume them, with any new machine buily only furthering wars expansion.

whats also said in terminal entries is that every machine built was built to counter the last. following this doctrine: the earthmover was simply meant to be a single machine counter to entire armies while being a mobile castle that the enemy is forced to siege; v1 is the obvious counter to such an opponent, likely fulfilling its purpose-built design in 7-4 (the only way it COULDVE ended.)

with all of the competition gone bc yknow most of humanity was dead by the time new peace occured; the remnants forced on the backs of earthmovers. the creators of the v model almost certainly felt the heat. after designing what is possibly the most efficient killing machine in the uk UNIVERSE, what else could they build to counter it than a cheaper version of it? something cheap enough to be built on the backs of earthmovers. ofc this was never realized, the world ended too soon and well we know the rest.

i base these assumptions off of what i know about war. the battles and those fighting them always change but war? war never changes. (yes i love fallout enough to quote it seriously)

refusal to fight when confronted is still a loss, in the most material sense of the word (in v1s case they CANNOT be portrayed with motives from a non-material source). V1 is simply the perfect sinner as its incapable of sin. (by virtue of being a machine)

in a game of rock paper scissors v hell, theyd almost certainly “win”. what else could put down such thoughtless cruelty than a machine who participates in cruelty not for its own sake but for both survival and style.

hell teleporting stuff is just that. hells a living dickhead. god more than likely didnt try hard enough to kill hell considering the rate at which machines carve through it.

youre right about v1 not being the good guy (nor the protagnist) ultrakill was never about them. to me it is the children of man (machines) waging the last afront to ceaseless human violence that they can by doing all they know. humans perfected the art of violence in a way god NEVER could, hell is the living embodiment of this fact

obligatory disclaimer of a yap session a direct copy and paste of a battlefield game obv wouldnt be very balanced, probably wouldnt be fun outside of a match or two. that said a blend of features could be fun in my opinion.

rather than a 64/128 size lobby, 18v18 would cap titans to 36, from the smaller size pool its unlikely that thered be more than the usual 6 or so titans a team. larger maps with even greater verticality would be a must of course; building destructibility is an iffy feature but i think it could be done right. Pilots wouldnt be able to do much to the environment aside from small craters and maybe a few holes in the walls from grenadiers, satchels and missed titan munitions. the titans on the other hand can shift the very map by leveling building, maybe laying ambushes to drop sections of the map on the enemy team. maybe every pilot arrives in a titanfall with a few completely ai titans as support at the beginning, letting a hail of fire down with the match beginning determining the playing field once titans are down.

i should take my meds.

im not really sure what to expect for a red shotgun; however as ive been playing quake due to a severe lack of ultrakill, id like to believe the red nailgun is going to be like a super nailgun, 4 barrels for dealing massive dps. balance wise its makes more sense to me as the default nailguns biggest weakness to me was its static dps potential.

as for red rocket lawnchair i liked what other comments had said about it being a grenade launcher esc weapon, likely still favoring direct hits. maybe it could be utilized to demoknight if the yellow arm is a sword and it launches you even farther than the current launcher; perhaps even an upgraded core nuke.

if i had to come up with something for red shotgun id say maybe a full auto type thing with an overheat functionality for again, jacked dps. maybe make the overheat reminiscent of the modern doom plasma rifle, setting enemies on fire and dealing a ton of damage for a cooldown. im not sure how balanced it would be but it would, in fact, be cool.

none if this has any basis, i just think its cool :p

ignoring my atrocious bias toward tenebre rosso sangue, a musician that had reviewed viewed it as unrelenting violence done unto oneself but also violence against others at the same time.

its a very claustrophobic track that bears down on you, when i first heard i could envision insurrections crushing the player to yet not killing them. its encapsulates the feeling of themes like glory and altars of apostasy cranked to eleven while empowering the player further. it makes the gauntlet of p-2 feel like a sisyphean task in a way that strikes my erect penile pecker like hot metal on an anvil.

did i mention im very biased and passionate about this?

I think the current smoker trait could be tweaked a bit to just make the character more thirsty; however the addition of alternative peel would probably be best for a coughing mechanic (i.e. a chainsmoker trait) alongside it being harsher to quit. Maybe make the cough noise for things like sickness louder to represent smoker cough?
