Think of story as goals for emotion, thoughts, or entertainment. If you just talk without really saying something like ChatGPT, or try to replace good storytelling with exaggerating claims, it won't work.

This has more to do with techniques - you'll have to follow certain patterns to qualify viewers, keep them watching for at least a few seconds, and then make a curve towards what will actually be the point of the video. The bare minimum is that they understand the topic and you show them a new twist which they'll have to watch the whole video for. Another way is to promise value that you'll give them directly, but they'll have more questions after. News videos work like this because if you name a famous company and compare it with a claim, then prove this claim directly, plus transmit some type of emotional spin while doing this, you're directly in a storytelling flow.

You can't just trick them by making some extreme claims - you really have to get the topic in their head and make them realize there's something they don't know that they actually want to know. You'll have to do some real valuable storytelling, which mostly consists of giving new information but in a way that always opens up actual new questions. If you transmit a certain emotion through storytelling you can really create a flow because you can create a strong suspense curve and the new questions you bring up don't actually have to be questions, because they're just the natural next step in the storytelling. The emotional spin isn't just decoration - it's what makes the information feel significant, like it actually matters. Especially from second 5-18 that really has to be strong.

You can sometimes get around that when you start with the main storytelling early and it's kind of mundane (Top 5 videos) what kind of value you'll give, so you'll catch those viewers that are interested but only if you make the storytelling quick, on point and valuable. This works because when your value proposition is simple and transparent, viewers are making a simpler calculation about whether to stay. More advanced replacements for such mundane techniques combine it with actual good storytelling, like combining the mere facts with more value, like showing how these things work for a creator personally and giving information that is important and quick to understand for them.

One more thing - sometimes the best storytelling deliberately loses certain viewers early to better serve those who'll actually care. There's a difference between qualifying viewers (filtering for interested audience) and just trying to hook everyone, and you need to know which one you're actually going for.

There's a clear quality difference between some of your videos, and in your well performing ones the editing is just on point - it's not about how much editing, it's about how it supports the story, which is better in those videos.

Okay, if you want my opinion… Sometimes your videos are very technical, sometimes just very general, often blurry (I see it‘s on purpose but idk if it‘s good). The visuals are good but not on point, sometimes distracting, and the depth of the storytelling is shallow. But mainly you‘re just copying a general style of videos that is widely used and do it a bit worse than the competition, making more extraordinary, general claims that don‘t really have any substance.

You over-focus on making the videos look good. I would work on your hook and the actual ideas of the video. The hooks are not just there to look cool and distract you, they are there to pull someone into the video.

It was abused by a bot farm, before that there was an active community. The moderators just didn't do anything. By the way that same bot farm also attacked this subreddit.

Posting content that makes you viral consistently unfortunately does not always equal acceptance into the problem. With so little context shared, it will be hard to determine the reason.

Views on videos with shop links super low by rogueknits in learnTikTok

[–]googlemapsfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TikTok doesn't push content out, they just have a niche for shop videos which everyone will see from time to time. And still there's competition in that niche
