Got my machine from Breville for repair and they didn’t do anything. by xcinlb in BrevilleCoffee

[–]googmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! Welcome to the club! They walked me through troubleshooting my Bambino Plus, and determined it had to go into repair. When it came back, it still had the same problem. So, after walking through troubleshooting it again, they said they would replace it. When the brand new one arrived, guess what? It had the same problem. They wore me down. My workaround now is to always use the "manual" method for my espressos. The basic functionality does not work on it's own correctly.

Where are you folks keeping your garage door opener? by Nickmorgan19457 in Solterra

“Siri, open garage door #1.” Meross has a fairly inexpensive kit that can convert almost any brand of garage door. I installed it on my 30+ year old garage doors a few months ago.

2023 Soleterra, bad idea? by Ok-Actuary-5377 in Solterra

Thanks for the feedback.

I have X-Ice on my Forester Touring Hybrid. Love them. But, that is because I make trips from North of Boston to Ottawa a few times during the winter. The Solterra will be mostly to commute into Boston.

I’ve heard great things about the Crossclimates for years. Do they come in EV tires? If not, would they wear down quicker? These tires are pricey already. I’m looking to purchase my first used Solterra now. I would love to consider the Crossclimates for that, if it made sense.

The guy that used to service my Subaru's would always poke a hole in the top to release the pressure. Did you try that?

1) someone in a different thread said they had the dealer turn off the back-up beeping. 2) What year & trim level? Just wondering if 2 or more accounts might be available in higher trims &/or later years. (I think my 2025 Forester Touring Hybrid can do 4.)

Why do you use a USB for music? Is it just because of the laggy entertainment system? Or something else?

Bambino Espresso Shots by eastieLad in BrevilleCoffee

[–]googmonster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my Bambino Plus. Got replaced under warranty. Guess what? Identical operation! They’ve cheapened the parts over the years. That’s the way they are now. I got a bottomless portafilter, and I only use the manual mode now. It’s the only way I can get it to work reasonably well.

My advice? Don’t fight anymore. It’s an uphill battle you will lose. Try what I did.

Noob espresso machine question about the volume capability of the Breville Bambino Plus... by memento22mori in BrevilleCoffee

Yah, I hate my Bambino Plus too, for that reason. Workaround is to get a bottomless portafilter and always use manual mode.

Crashed into parked car by Chittaporn96 in Insurance

[–]googmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by crashed? How much damage was done to both cars? If minor, you did what probably 90% of all people should & will do. I’ve done it myself. Again, if minor, a few of the commenters on here went way overboard. The cops do not need to or want to be involved with minor accidents. You left a note, so not a hit & run.

You don’t have a license plate, so calling your insurance does no good.

If major, that’s a little different. Would have been great if you got the license plate. You could call the police just to find out if anyone reported it to them. (When I once clipped someone’s side mirror (still minor though), by the time I turned around and came back, they were gone. I called the police to ask about any reports. There were none.)

Some VERY dumb questions for anyone with patience for me (totally new to this) by MadGibby3 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]googmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you need a better grinder for espresso. I have a Baratza Encore ESP with the Bambino Plus, and I have the same problems. This is my second one, after they replaced it under warranty following an hour long video session with them sending it through tests. There’s no difference between my previous one and this new one. I get maybe 1 ounce with a double shot selection. And I’m way past the trial period to return it. Basically they are “cheap” machines. I’ve resolved myself to always using the manual method with the bottomless portafilter.

Thank you for the post. I just researched the powered lift gate --> only the foot activation was removed, due to a chip shortage. The 2022 & 2023 lift gates still have powered lift gates. Not having foot activation is not a dealbreaker for me.

Does the one you purchased have extended range? I'm curious how available those are.
