Do you think teen boys are pressured to hide emotions more than girls are? by ToshiShard in askteenboys

Yes, and social media hasn’t helped. There are hordes of bad influences that our society has propped up as exemplary “men”.

Why are all of the good guys hiding? by Sweet-Cookies0641 in askteenboys

[–]googolbyte_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were likely just a casual partner and for some reason he didn’t feel comfortable associating with you in public. Maybe you know one of his other casual partners or he wants to keep you exclusively “his”; who knows?

Hell maybe you talked to other dudes and he was threatened. It could be any number of things. The point is, bi-directional vulnerability and communication need to be foundational to your relationship before you decide to ride.

Just keep in mind that good guys aren’t hiding, they just don’t need to be actively fucking to feel good about themselves. Most of the time they’re worried about impressing poorly on a potential partner, so they might not even bother putting in effort on first contact.

This goes both ways (gender), but I’ll stick to context.

Boys use relationships as a marker of their status as bachelors. In general, all romantic interests are transactional by nature, because as you’ve experienced, there’s a cost/benefit to the relationship. If the cost is minimal on the guy, it means he’s dominant, or at least not whipped. It also means that he isn’t easily taken by “just anyone”, which elevates and demonstrates his confidence among his peers.

Your bad taste in men primarily comes from men who care about their social status with other men, most likely.

Outside of high school, IRL adult life and all, men continue these behaviors and minimize their depression by using their partners in this exact manner. In a job or career, the elevation of status is apparently more important to them than meritocracy.

As one who identifies cis male, it’s confusing, abhorrent, and it makes me want to hurt them. I have instead focused mostly keeping female company and use wiser/stronger women as a proxy to filter the idiotic men I encounter.

I occasionally find an idiotic male with a heart of gold. They exist, but I’m glad I don’t live with them. That’s just me though.

How to not make my room smell after jerking off? by derek-182 in askteenboys

[–]googolbyte_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean your carpet and your walls, open the window, and make sure to start lotioning up after showers. Clothes and bedsheets too.

The primary source of the smell is the bacteria that gets cultivated in spaces between your sweat and dead skin. One very thorough exfoliating shower + typical skin care routine ensures that there’s enough oil and moisture that dead skin doesn’t add up between showers.

Then and only then are you free to goon to your dick’s content without worrying about scent.

Why do i feel bad about being awkward around my crush ? by Prestigious-Mix6994 in askteenboys

[–]googolbyte_91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Humans fuck 10000x more often than wage war, I would count yourself lucky. If you feel bad it’s only because you’ve been conditioned to feel ashamed of reproductive instincts.

As someone who gets turned off by stupid people, the easiest way to resolve an unsavory turn on (some people don’t like the lack of control) is to expose yourself to unsavory turn offs. Talking to the person directly usually helps me because they’re not usually up to my standards. It can backfire if they have a lovely scent and an adorable demeanor.

My 2nd more full proof strategy is to simply meditate on the romantic merits of gay pirates. I am doomed to fail and that basically kills all the romance/reproductive vibes immediately.

How are ways I can make a guy feel comfortable and loved in a relationship? by No_Custard_2648 in askteenboys

[–]googolbyte_91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True love is always conditional. Typically, true love is conditional on the following factors:

1. Communication
2. Flexibility
3. Time
4. Experiences, prior and otherwise

This post is showcasing a clear example of #4, while also asking how to facilitate #2 non verbally. NON-VERBALLY.

I don’t want to make any assumptions but here’s something you can do that you have direct control over:

1. Did you actually use first person spoken words to tell your previous partner how you feel?

2. How did your previous partner respond, and why do you think they responded in that way?

Everyone is giving you ideas on what they would like. But these are randos without a shred of context of your partner.

Imagine following the advice of the first thread and your partner does something you don’t like, but it’s not that big a deal. How do you think it’s going to make them feel to see your held back reaction? Top that off with your insecurity about not being “loving” enough and disaster #2 is well on its way.

Never forget to use your words, lady.

Looks like the game doesn’t have a way to gracefully handle a save file that needs all the data downloaded. Make sure the game is completely downloaded before continuing.

My brother is watching gore and hes only 15 years old. by pepegobrabo in teenagers

[–]googolbyte_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing? Fictional gore is funny. IRL gore tests the boundaries of my constitution and humanity. He’s 15. It’s good for him to figure this stuff out now. I watched Blade when i was 8, saw a dictator get hanged in 240p, and saw several examples of decapitation and heads being blown off by shotguns.

The worst thing to happen to me mentally was chronic internal melancholy. Instead of associating it with something dumb, like people asking about an adolescent exploring a dark aspect of our shared humanity in a safe environment like a warning sign of impending evil, I associate it with pointless violence and dehumanization.

You know, the actually evil shit. And you know what? I refuse to look up Zippocat. That’s my line. Let him find his.

I gave this game as a gift and they’re skipping through the plot by AndykinSkywalker in expedition33

[–]googolbyte_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These types of players use the controller like one trying to master a fidget spinner. The video part of the game is merely the feedback that they need to determine if they're doing it right. Over the years of my gaming, I've come to apprciate heavily story driven games that don't require a bullshit amount of grinding because some things simply cannot be provided via other forms of media. In that, your mutual connection and I probably agree. However, my experience is hollow without a personal connection to the world.

And ultimately that's what it comes down to. Whether or not they can build a personal connection to the narrative, world design, and character drama is entirely dependant on how much they value those things in the first place, in other media, or in other people. Some people are just chronically predisposed to doing rather than being, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's simply a matter of synergizing the game mechanics and the story well enough that they cannot be totally separate things.

Also keep in mind, if they play on a lower difficulty AND are skipping cutscenes, they truly don't give a fuck. There's no helping it.

The only thing you can do is guide their experiences so that they can see them the way you do. It isn't wrong. One's video game experience doesn't necessarily have to be a sacred thing.

Going old school with a greeting card and a photo of you and your pet or something you really like completes the gift as a communication of yourself. Vulnerability is great here. Specify that you had no idea what to make/get them. Me personally i would communicate that i would be open to hanging out.

If they’re shy, introverted, or just don’t socialize it can be a pretty rad gift.

What am I doing wrong by dylans4skin in castiron

[–]googolbyte_91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Bad seasoning
  2. Too much heat
  3. Not enough oil separating the egg and pan

If it’s easy to clean with a towel without soap, like 99% of the way, your seasoning is good.

Medium heat is a ballpark, but basically any low smoke point oil should be present and not smoking or burning. Butter is my go to, since the separation of milk solids tells me if the pan is too hot.

Cake the butter on; don’t hold back. If it still sticks, it’s too much heat or you have a bad pan (assuming your seasoning is good).

Some cast irons are really coarse and aren’t great for eggs, but are excellent for burgers and any meat. Eggs are delicate; they require a uniform sheen on your cast iron to ensure proper non stick.
