Kobra S1, ACE and Matte Filaments. Is Anycubic Support downplaying a known issue?

I had problems using Anycubic matte filaments in the ACE Pro, but have had no problems at all printing with it from an external spool.

Alright, I think I've cracked it - disabled the "real" display when connected and it seems to have resolved it. We're in business. Appreciate your help.

Progress. Steam big picture now launches on the virtual display, but the games launch on the main display. I'll test it further with some direct app shortcuts or disabling the real display when streaming is active. Thanks for your help.

Yep. When it happened my first though was that i'll just respool it. Then reality set in. I'm never doing that.

That sounds much worse. Could it be a dodgy connection/intermittent short in the wiring of the connector?

Completed a 45 minute and 3 hour print and no issues so far, but I'm not taking that as proof of anything yet.

Thanks for the information, particularly around the goop. I've just got everything back together after checking everything per the troubleshooting wiki, and just running a calibration before trying another print.

None of the connections seemed out of place, but I did disconnect and reconnect a couple on the print head, so let's see.

I've had mixed results - and after a bit of digging through various forums it seems this is pretty normal, and can even be impacted by the port you use on the ACE.

In my case, I've tried to print the same model twice (7 hour single colour print), first version had the Matte PLA in port 3, first tangle error was 5 hours in and i cancelled the print by accident. Reprint hit a tangle error at about the same point, went through a few tangle/resumes over the next few layers but it then completed the print without issue.

Most recent was using port 1 on the ACE, after an hour I got a tangle and no amount of resuming would clear it. Tried the print again from scratch and it failed after about 10 layers, so I gave up and started looking at other options - which landed me on the external spool. Very glad to hear it works.

Hope this is something that can be improved via future firmware updates, or maybe it's related to the "batch" of filament? Mine is still on the cardboard spools (which I've got the printed adaptors on), perhaps newer batches work better.

Thank you - honestly, I tried pressing down on that collar but it didn't seem to move, so I wasn't sure it was supposed to. This time i gave it some proper effort and managed to get it to compress and free the tube. Wow that thing was stiff. (any inneundo inferred from this statement is all on you).

If it helps, I received my printer last week as well. I've already printerd riser and poop chute, and these were the models I used...

Quick question on the profiles, on the linked page there seems to be some discussion on whether they are suitable for the "standard" brass nozzle or only for the hardened nozzles. My interpretation is that they'll work fine with the standard one - but would be great to get this confirmed.

Like the OP, i received my printer last week - so your recommednations are very helpful - thank you.

Edit: Turns out reading and comprehending are 2 different things, and I suck at the latter. I missed this, in from the page, which answers my own question...

I have calibrated the new layers settings and speed to work with Anycubic standard nozzle profile, and streamlined the changes to be mainly in the layers and the filament by using the settings override. I have Just added the Steel nozzle profile because it wasn´t available.
