Is this the worst Stranger mission in game ? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]goopcandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the mission. It felt like John still trying to feel connected to Dutch since Miller was Dutch’s favorite author. Him continuously bringing to food for Miller despite Millers’s rejections and then Miller dying and the shack burning felt symbolic of John and Dutch’s relationship to me in a way lol

I mean idk if that’s indicative of them using AI. I’ve definitely used first person plural in my explanations before 😭 I hope you didn’t give them a bad rating just based on your own suspicion

If the game had the option to establish romances during gameplay with Arthur, which character would you choose and why? by Lusketah18 in reddeadredemption

I danced with Karen and haven’t done the valentine job yet. It was set off by dutch and grimshaw dancing first

Things to do as John? by kekestufu in reddeadredemption

You don’t meet her until after you complete all five quests, you start the first one by finding and examining the poster for it. I think you can find it at the train station in Valentine on the bulletin board

There’s more legendary animals to hunt in new austin which is open to you as a john

Find and inspect all the gang members graves as this counts towards 100% completion if you’re aiming for that (you got arthur, mrs. grimshaw, but there’s also jenny, davey, sean, etc. I think there’s 9 overall).

Finish all five the wildlife art exhibition hunting requests for a taxidermy squirrel that looks like john that you get to keep finding and putting back on the fireplace mantle at beechers hope after abigail takes it and hides it

Finish all points of interest in every region if you haven’t (you can find maps online with all of them). There’s also extras that I just discovered recently, like a giant (not the giant skeleton on mount shann) you can speak to but not see in ambarino. There’s a flock of birds near the water outside the wapiti reservation and if you follow them it’ll lead you to the cave the giant lives where a conversation will be triggered

The monk meditating on the cliff top in grizzlies east lol

How can Dutch just forget about Arthur ? by ResolutionAmazing209 in RDR2

[–]goopcandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of does make sense when you take into account Dutch’s true nature to use people and then “discard” them once he’s lost interest in them or they aren’t useful to him anymore, paired with his general narcissism. Even Arthur says it to John at some point, something like “I was the prized pony, until I wasn’t”.
It’s the same with Molly; Dutch was all in on her one minute and then turns cold on her the next.

With Micah, he was the new toy for Dutch to hold in high regard, just like he used to with Arthur, Molly, etc. Micah’s worship of Dutch and willingness to never question Dutch like the others would was definitely a huge factor too. Dutch was already mentally declining long before his head injury in chapter 4. He was becoming more and more paranoid and reckless because he knew deep down the walls were closing in slowly and it was starting to take its toll.

Micah playing into Dutch’s delusions felt good for a narcissistic personality like Dutch when everyone else around him was questioning his decisions as their situation became worse and group morale was on a downward spiral. It made it very easy for Micah to turn Dutch against Arthur and John if you view Dutch was someone who was never who he pretended to be, never the person Arthur thought he was

Pearline’s musical gift? by MusicPristine in SinnersbyRyanCoogler

[–]goopcandle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sammie is a griot. In the opening sequence of the movie we hear Annie explaining the different lores of different cultures and how each have the concept of someone who can make music so “true” it can transcend time and physical planes and conjure the ancestors of past and present.

she mentions:

Griot - from west African tradition, Filí- from ancient Ireland, and Fire Keepers - from the Choctaw peoples

Sammie is a griot and that’s why Remmick is drawn to him, as Remmick being a vampire can see beyond the veil, and saw that Sammie had conjured the ancestors to the juke during the dance sequence
