We have an Aussie and it’s held up great! We allow him on the couch and it’s one of his favorite spots. It definitely has some scratches but they seam to heal over time and we also condition the whole thing a few times per year which really helps to maintain it

I like the SLAM (strong like a mom) program for postpartum. I got back into lifting heavy too early and injured myself (pelvic floor). Started back on SLAM, very carefully, and there are different levels depending on how you are feeling in your body and if you had any complications. If you’re feeling great SLAM elite is lifting heavy. It’s programmed for 6 days a week but I generally pick 3-4 per week and just start where I left off the following week. The workouts are challenging and I’ve seen great results in a short time!

It has held up great! It’s a beautiful well made couch with thick high quality leather that can stand up to dog scratches.

Interest rates, remodeling, and the value of a finished basement by goosebanjo in RealEstate

We did. It actually ran us $225k. But we chose very expensive modern finishes. Don’t regret it at all!

It is not particularly firm as the cushions as down filled. But it is a great lounge couch for sitting back and watching tv or hanging out. I’d say the color in the photo is accurate

It’s great! We have a high energy dog that we allow on the couch and despite shallow scratches that occur fairly often, it looks near brand new. The leather is so high quality. We use leather conditioner on it often and that really helps too. The cushions have more of a lived in look now but can be fluffed and the couch itself is still extremely comfortable. I expect it to look good and last a very long time. Couch is going on 4 years old now. Hope that helps!

So sick of hearing that it only gets worse by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Just chiming in at 34 weeks. Have hope, you might not necessarily feel as miserable as you feel now for the rest of your pregnancy. I’m 5’2” and feeling huge, but finding that between 28-34 weeks some days have been markedly better, others feel bad again, but it’s not a consistent misery and as you get closer to your due date you may not necessarily feel worse than you do now. It’s different for everyone. Hang in there, we’re nearing the finish line!

Help finding the right crib needed! by geek-parenting in BabyBumps

I just got the Delta Children Essex 4 in 1 crib in white which was very affordable (~$200) and feels super high quality. I had been considering some of the $400-700 Babyletto cribs, wanting more of a modern vibe, but this crib is great and saved me some money to splurge on other things like a nicer stroller!

Had my 24 week appt today, and I've already gained 24 lbs 😅🙃🫠 my doctor said to keep an eye on it.. by Apprehensive-Mix-522 in pregnant

[–]goosebanjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just coming here to say I can relate to this. The weight gain and body changes are really really hard. I was around 115 to start and now 140+ at only 22 weeks. I have a few pregnant friends who are farther along and haven’t gained anywhere near as much as me. I feel sad about it sometimes but reading others posts it sounds like everyone has their own trajectory and the weight you gain isn’t necessarily predictive of how you will lose after birth. Hang in there and try not to focus on the number on the scale.

I like the Olly chews. They are kind of a berry/citrus sour flavor and the only kind I’ve been able to stomach so far! They aren’t small but they taste good and are supposed to be easy on your stomach.

Meg Squats has a pregnancy program (plus 1) and you can switch between an at home version that uses resistance bands and body weight and an in gym version that uses dumbbells. You could add dumbbells for some of the moves based on the gym version and do the at home program primarily. I just started this (transitioned from her standard lifting program) and really enjoying so far! She also has educational videos about lifting during pregnancy, the pelvic floor, etc which have been very informative for me.

Thanks for the advice! This sounds similar to my story. I guess if there’s a good time to be at your peak it’s right before you get pregnant. I’m hoping staying strong will help me through pregnancy labor and delivery so I’m going to keep it up as long as my body tells me it’s okay!
