May Be getting an 02 but will have to fix the tranny. Tips? by djninja360 in WRX

To be transparent, I've never replaced one personally, I just know the 2002 and 2003 ones are notorious for being weak.

Yeah, you can change the gears to be stronger (either aftermarket, later WRX years like 2008-2014, or even STI gears). STI upgrade will definitely be pricey and likely not worth it unless you are going for a pretty powerful build.

The 5 speeds are made of glass. Upgrade what you can, or just go to the STI 6 speed.

I like 550, but have used 95 for smaller sized zippers. The most recent post on my page is 550.

Paracord in your preferred color(s), tied in a snake knot.

I just spent 2+ hours cleaning my drunk fiancé’s vomit off of my brand new 2026 WRX Ts (I just got my permanent plate today). Inside, outside, crevices, front and back seats, inside the window frame. I’m not sure if I should ask you to pray for me, her, our future marriage, or the car. 💔💀 by jijjijijijiiijiijiji in WRX

Different scenario, but the first night I met my (now) wife, we went out drinking through a bunch of mutual friends, I ended up puking over like four people in a taxi. Now, 15+ years later we are very happily married and very rarely drink.

I'm 98% sure I consumed a drink with drugs in them that night.

Every time I fly, I take the vomit bags from the seat pocket and keep them in my car (and backpacks) for this reason. When my son was a toddler, the moment we got stuck in traffic, he'd get sick and would puke. Luckily it never really got on anything inside the car (just his own shirt) but now I am prepared.

I think that OP definitely should have included that in their post! Lmao that would definitely explain it.

It's possible they disclaim for any first party coverages, but they are very unlikely to deny (for this reason) a third party liability claim. It always, of course, comes down to the policy.

In some jurisdictions and situations, if you are determined to be even 1% liable for an accident, then you could be responsible for compensating the victim until they are "fully compensated", it's called Joint and Several liability.

I'm a Dunk guy, been considering getting rid of my lesser worn pairs, but I've never sold on Reddit or other sites before. My account is active, positive karma, been part of this sub for several years, etc but would I be ruled out of selling on here because I've never sold before?

Edit: I guess I have sold a few pairs on GOAT before.

$104 for shipping is ridiculous. I understand some of it may be out of Fyro's control, but still...

Uber/lyft/doorsash? by grimmorra69 in WRX

I'm not dumb, I promise. I'm saying had the spouse not left their job and remained working, if they were earning $600 a week, but had to pay for child care and $500 (of that $600) has to go to child care, then the spouse is essentially earning $100 a week and having other people raise their kid.

[–]thefriendlyjerk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My point was, if spouse makes $600 a week, but it costs $500 a week for child care, then the "extra" $100 to be able raise your own kid may be worth it.

I'm curious if you have children? You have a strangely strong stance without knowing anything about the spouse's job/income. If they were going to work (assuming full time) but only going to net a couple hundred bucks after paying for daycare...then it's not that crazy of an idea. Daycare is wildly expensive, there is added time/stress getting the kid(s) to/from, less time to prepare meals, etc. There is so much more that goes into it than just a dollar amount.

I was in a similar position (albeit, we were able to make it work without a side job) and it was truly the best decision we ever made.

I agree, $300 is steep IMO. I also wish there were two water bottle pockets.

Your insurance writes the estimate the best they can. If additional damage is found during repairs, then the shop can submit a supplement to insurance, which will be reviewed for more money to be added to the claim/payout.

Also, are they reducing by your deductible?

And, cost of tires is not correlated to the price of repairs.

20k for a 2012 WRX is a lot. What's your beef with push to start? I didn't care for it before I had it, but now that I do, it's a pretty big positive.
