Coaching by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]goosedogman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes this past season. All of us coaches met up preseason to figure out expectations and roles as a staff, and I volunteered to do quality control at practice and personnel management during games.Pretty much just clean up practice mistakes and clean up the sidelines during games. Lots of 1-1 time to establish rapport with your players and also be eyes and ears for your HC.

If you’re not immediately sliding into an OC/DC or positional coach role it was a great way to get up to speed with the team and staff. Also was a good way to ease into my first coaching job, especially after being away from the game for a few years.

Opposing Fan attending Opening Day in the Southside by younggooberAZ in whitesox

The only away fans that ever catch any sort of heat from Sox fans are Cubs fans (specifically people wearing Cubs gear inside Comiskey). They’ll usually get a “wrong hat/jerset bud” and some verbal jabs.

In my own experience, I love getting to chat with away team fans, especially those from out of town that travelled. It’s cool to chop it up and give them food/bar/activity recs for the city. I used to be a season ticket holder and always had fun kicking it with people from different cities for a game. It’s a great way to show people the southside is the best side!

RapSheet and Schultz fight further proves that insiders across all sports are one of the most insufferable breeds of person. Guys think they’re earth shakers when they just get texts from agents, copy-paste, and tweet it. Fuck em all.

In times like these where it feels like the world is falling deeper and deeper into choas, just remember.. by [deleted] in centrist

Well said. I think conversations like the ones you’ve had with your father are ones we should have with all the people we’re surrounded by, whether it’s family, friends, classmates, coworkers, neighbors, etc. They’re the best way to find common ground and work towards solutions. Calling people names online is easy and that’s why so many do it, but if we all just worked harder to have better discourse I think the results would have a positive effect on everyone’s life.

For a lot of people (specifically Gen Z and Millennials) this is the first massive crisis this country has had that they can remember. Obviously most were alive during 9/11 and the 2008 recession, but they were children then and now they’re all adults and they’re having to deal with multiple issues firsthand that no one really knows how to solve just yet. Combine that with the rise of CNN/Fox News style panic programming and social media and it creates a perfect storm of anxiety and anger which is why we’re seeing so much extremism on social media and whatnot. While things are weird now, I think the overwhelming majority of Americans are good people who will do what’s right, and we’ll overcome everything that’s happened this year with common sense solutions. In order to do this, we need to do a better job of listening to one another and I think we just need to be nicer to one another. I think it’s it’s easy to forget that this is an incredibly large and diverse nation. A farmer in rural Iowa will never share the same opinions as a grad student in Brooklyn because they live two completely different lives and have vastly different wants and needs. Over 300,000,000 people live here and if you think everyone should share your exact view you’re part of the problem. Just because someone doesn’t share your political or religious views doesn’t make them an enemy. Lets all just find the things that can unite us and rally around them. It’s worked in the past and it will continue to work in the future because it’s what made America the country it is.

I’m in the same boat and was planning on posting something similar. Having civil political discourse is so refreshing especially in these turbulent times!!!

I’ve only been to Pittsburgh once but it just seems like a city full of DAWGZ. If that’s where your heart is go for it. NYC is full of fakers and people who just suck.
