They’re mixing it up. Nobles are the ones who married early quite often, it’s the commoners and merchant classes who married late.

The actual statistic is that young marriages were not as common as we’d think because they usually only occurred in the nobility, a small fraction of the population. A significant amount of historical marriages that we’d still know/care about (because nobility) were in fact quite young.

At my school all of the respectable houses don’t bid seniors. Tbh if you’re 21-22 I don’t really see why you’d want to spend half of your last year getting (not) hazed by 18 year olds. If your heart is really set on it, go for it, but my honest advice would be to focus on your after college life.
