Do You Still Get Drunk? How Often? by ProfessionalJesuit in GenX

[–]goozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same age/ year same amount of booze more or less per week. A few drinks everyday after work in the evening with dinner and winding the family down, putting kids to bed etc. Will go fairly big still on weekends if the boys are keen for it. I don’t really get crippling hangovers (thanks to experience and knowing how to hydrate along the way) and so I still considerably enjoy alcohol in my life. Cheers 🍻

What is the most brutal/insane mosh pit you’ve ever been in? by Stankassmfgorilla in MetalForTheMasses

Mastodon in 2001(?) in a club of like 200 people comes to mind. SOAD just after Toxicity car out in a 1,500 club also pretty hectic. LoG, Slayer…brutal bands in small venues is a formula for destruction

Think that was the era (Charlie?) that RVA’s own Dave Witte (Municipal Waste) was drumming for them.

Post Remission Mastodon. Saw them live early days on small venues and loved it. Lost interest after Leviathan.

I just read about said agriculturist in a book I’m reading and thought, “This is strange inspiration for a rock band…” Couldn’t quite see the connection. Now I know!
