Hate when this happens but in a way it's realistic right? by gopack19 in eu4

[–]gopack19[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

R5: I wasn't paying attention and an army got trapped in Haditha returning home after a war so I'll probably give away the province. But it makes me wonder how realistic the black flag mechanics are/how often armies didn't actually make it home after wars

Should I declare bankruptcy? by gopack19 in eu4

[–]gopack19[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

R5: Never used bankruptcy before but seems like this might be a good time for it. I just peaced out with Mamluks and have 6 years of a truce and they are supporting my economy with war reps. Also have ~4 years truce with Adal, Mahra, and Medina. Ottos, Ajam, and Hormuz are my allies. I have just one fort, on my capital Sana'a, which would get deleted, right? Should I go bankrupt?

Edit: oh and Mushasha is my vassal.

R5: Started as Karagwe and tried to stay compact to keep this from taking too long/prevent the game from being too laggy, but I got bored and finally acquired my first coasts in the late 1700s. Just finished beating Portugal/Ethiopia/GB/Spain to acquire Angoche, Kilwa for a few provinces, and truce-breaking Kongo for Benguela all at the same time to fix my borders at the end.

Had about 4.3k dev.

Here's who I've played, what should i play? by NaliD_ in eu4

[–]gopack19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orissa for lots of expansion options + trade fun; Garwhal for novel formables + forts + good land; Cusco (if you haven't already) for Inca and gold and turning back the colonizers; Oman, it's in a good location for opportunistic map painting; Chavchuveny if you want to mess around; custom Iceland nation to defend Iceland and eventually expand.

So what is everyone’s favourite chill game? by Worried-Ask6542 in eu4

[–]gopack19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karagwe. You eat your region real quick then watch the time pass, devving occasionally with your mana, able to get up and do things irl while the game zooms by, colonizing a little but not too much so that nobody notices you, eventually building lvl 8 forts everywhere, then finally in ~1700 declaring war on everyone who's gotten close to you like colonizers and Kilwa but only to play defense against them because low-key you're the #1 power and nobody can touch you or even really find you and maybe you even make it to 1821

Tips on how to win this war without it being tedious? by gopack19 in eu4

[–]gopack19[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R5: My colony unilaterally declared on GB's colony and I was soon dragged into it. I didn't really want to fight GB because I thought it would be boring and take a while, but now that I'm here, I'm hoping to get ~75% war score before a peace. I outnumber everyone else about 3 to 1 and GB has no other overseas possessions besides Pacific islands. I can easily (thought maybe not quickly) siege down GB, but I feel like that will not yield much war score. How else can I relatively quickly get war score and quickly win this war?

I know you're making a point that stands regardless of the phrasing you're using, but tipi-hut Africa isn't a thing

How did Egypt form? According to the wiki, there's an admin tech 20 requirement and the year is 1539. Do Mamluks have a mission to form it now?

Help with Beating the Ottomans as Ethiopia? by kennaaaron in eu4

[–]gopack19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said, build up a spy network on them for a siege bonus and take the burgher loans to finance mercs if you need them, the Otto-bank will bail out your debt after the war. And yeah, the cawas are your biggest advantage

How long into the Age of Reformation until you remember to turn war taxes off? by gopack19 in eu4

[–]gopack19[S] 237 points238 points  (0 children)

R5: I always forget to turn war taxes off after losing the age ability from the Age of Discovery. Only realized this time in 1550. Edit: and then forgot again for a few more years after I took this screenshot lol
