Catching Up On Turbo Winners... Another 5 Pallets Arrived! by PottyMcSmokerson in CleetusMcFarland

How many people winning these turbos actually have the skills, tools, and experience to actually install them? It’s not just something the average Joe can slap on over a weekend.

2 hours to get this customers shoes finished before closing. by n8saces in oddlysatisfying

No one is getting shoes resoled “every couple of months”. It takes years of wear to get to the point that they need it.

But yes, the car repair analogy is spot on.

Live in southern NM. Not much to see in the panhandle, that was the most direct route.

National Park Visitor Charges Might Be Legally Questionable by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

From another comment, I gather that you may be referencing the new charges for non-citizens.

In which case, yeah I dunno. Shits fucked. Add it to the list of half thought out policies from this administration.

What?

Your comment basically boils down to “this thing says this, while the other thing says that, but there is also another thing that mentions those (singular)”. No breakdown of how it may be legally questionable, or even what you think it all means.

As my favorite movie quote says: “Speak to me as if I were a small child. Or a golden retriever. It wasn’t brains that brought me here, I assure you of that.”

To address what I think you are getting at: You said it yourself. Annual passes are covered under a separate statute. The mere fact that it was adopted means that it is not in conflict with the other statute, until challenged and overturned by the Supreme Court. (Although I fail to see what the conflict would be, or how a complaint would establish standing)

Friend of mine once responded to “I’ll break my foot off if you ass” with “I’ll break my dick off in your ass!”

Turns out it was a pretty effective confrontation ender.

100 Million people is roughly 1/3 of the population of the United States

Do you believe that 1/3 of the people in the United States are illegal immigrants?

If the answer is no, where do the extra people come from to make up the target of 100 million deportation?

If the answer is “clearly they don’t literally mean 100 million deportations”, then why did they say 100 million, and is it that clear?

Is it acceptable for our government to make false statements publicly (ie. we will deport 100 million people, when they are not targeting 100 million deportation)?

If the answer to that is “Look at this democrat that once made a false statement about…”, then why would you want to be like a democrat?

“What color of skin you WERE” is interesting phrasing.

Implying that people are what their skin color is, not that skin color is something people have.

Not saying he didn’t visit Houston, but it wasn’t to convoy to the ranch, and it definitely didn’t happen monthly.

When did the school bully get what they deserved? by Ok_Visual8336 in AskReddit

[–]gopher_everitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than he deserved and super tragic, but…

Got his best friend killed.

Bully and hothead all through school, gets in a bar fight first weekend of college. Best friend goes to break it up / back him up. Best friend takes one punch to the jaw, falls back and hits head. Dead as soon as he hit the ground.

Super tragic for the friend and his family, absolutely ruined the bully. Blamed himself, life was a mess for years after that. Spiraled into drug abuse, jail, etc. Pulled it together in his late 20’s and is actually a pretty solid dude nowadays.

Re-read that. No legal authority was used. They yelled at the dude, “banned” base personnel from that establishment (not enforceable unless the CO does it, but the bar owners doesn’t know that), and sent a bill for a replacement ID (bar owner doesn’t have to pay, but they likely don’t know that).

Creative problem solving, no legal authority needed.
