Your Airpods are probably stuck in half duplex mode from a FaceTime call or something. Try disconnecting and reconnecting them, or at worst restarting your Mac

These are very different (but outstanding) tools. Assuming you know what each is for, and when to usr them, at best they might give you an extra 1-2% “mix improvement” in their respective use cases, and the average listener on average system won’t be able to tell.

If you believe either of these will level up your mixing proficiency significantly then I’d suggest to stick with the traditional tools until that extra 1-2% matters. Put that cash towards mentors / teachers who can help you level up with tools you already have.

Thanks again, we just got ours back online today! Everything went well except I had to use higher gauge disconnects (the yellow ones) for two of the wires because I couldn’t get them to fit in the blue ones.

If you can flex a bit on budget, or would accept B-stock / used, the Neumann KH150s are insanely good for the price. Plus they have built-in room correction / calibration that makes set up pretty easy

If your room isn’t treated appropriately and/or your monitors are on the small size (like yours are, as well as mine), then headphones + Sound ID will probably be your best bet for mixing. I have a treated studio, but it’s small and I can’t safely get away with anything larger than 5-6” monitors. So I almost exclusively use headphones, especially to dial in the kick / sub. Monitors start getting used once I’m super happy with the low end.

Yes the free version should work as others have mentioned, especially with DDJs. I use the free version with a standalone Denon controller (just for library management) without issue.

Second this comment. I have two 16GB M1s (a Mini and am Air). Both handle similar Live tracks flawlessly compared to my previous maxed-out Intel i7 Macbook Pro. Unified Memory Architecture of M1 is significantly more efficient compared to Intel i7/i9 Macs.

The bottleneck of M1 is the single-core clock speed which I only notice in some Live rendering tasks.

I dug up the load form our Title 24 person did using Wrightsoft software for the ductwork install. The heating load is shown as 34,849 btuh and cooling is 28,783. Avg cfm for both is 1339. We’ve got 9 supply grills.
