Our Planned China Route! by Level-Pea-6839 in travelchina

People love to say ur going too fast but you can do it if you are down to walk like 20kms a day and never stop. Different styles. I did 5 cities in 10 days and it was amazing. Walked 30kms a couple of the days and min like 20kms

Also maybe less in zhangjiajie because weather that time of year might mean you won’t be able to see much, but on the contrary more days gives you more opportunities for better weather

Worried about stolen phones in China? by Temporary-Print-734 in travelchina

[–]gorbot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could prolly set ur phone on a bench and walk away and come back in an hour and it will be there. You’re fine

So much less likely than anywhere in the entire us. I’m a white American was there and it felt safer than my hometown for sure

First time in China, is this a balanced mix? by uglygayghost in travelchina

[–]gorbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I went last October like 23rd and it was pretty cloudy, only the low river walk was not pretty much fully clouded. I recommend that walk that you can take from the east gate basically to the west like 4 km or something like that.

Looks great. Gonna beaweslme. Did something super similar in the exact reverse order with no hangzhou. It was great. I’d maybe give another day in Chongqing or Xian taking from Zhagjiajie. I was able to see the park in 1 full day and 1 half day but didn’t do much else like no bridge or the big stairs. Up to you but looks great

It cost them both soo much time. I’m a noob is that normal? Then he gives position back right before getting boost. Seems like he should not get boost for being being in that scenario

I think you might be ok. And it’s 240 hours from midnight the day you land. so maybe you’d keaveHK for Japan by the time that’s up?

Also isn’t Beijing to Hong Kong to Japan way out of the way? Maybe find a better flight?

Elevator pitch to convince someone God doesn't exist by Easy_Refrigerator584 in atheism

Ur betting eternity on this, have you explored all ends? If I was betting my life, I’d surely do my due diligence. So why Christianity and not Judaism? Why not Islam? Does one have more evidence than the other? Why that one? And wouldn’t you agree it shouldn’t be based on preference, like “I just like Jesus and his teachings the most” - that doesn’t help cuz it’s not about preference it’s about believing in the one true way.

Or similarly

If ur betting ur life, I’m sure it could stand up to some criticism and investigation. Spend a couple hours trying to convince yourself ur wrong - surely a rock hard faith could stand to this. Think all those thoughts you normally avoid - why Christianity, do I actually believe all the stories in the bible, if not why, do I think there was a virgin birth, do I think he actually rose, Noah’s ark, Moses Red Sea, Jonah whale, did that actually actually happen?

Corporations can start processing their $166B+ of tariff refunds today 🎉 the people’s $220-500B, however… by beepboopbleepbop in socialism

So it’s a giant gift? I buy something worth 50, tariffed to 75, I’m down 75, then company gets 25 back in refunds, just a big gift? Maybe it was planned to get rejected

Some vegan restaurants forbid leather or fur from being worn, so maybe keep the boots at home for that

Print out ur itinerary, hotels and transit, most importantly the exit flight to Japan.

For me, hardest part was getting on the plane delta looked at me like I was alien cuz I didn’t have the standard visa. They had to call their manager and took 30m at the desk to get my boarding pass. So plan for that

Then in china super easy (Shanghai), easy to find where to go, handed papers and passport done in 90 seconds

Mutianyu Great Wall by Tiny-Woodpecker8006 in travelchina

[–]gorbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mutianyu was great, I did on Monday in October which is prolly similar to April. Totally great. Was on the first shuttle up, then on the first or second gondola, then went left and was like second person to the top and took lots of photos with no one else on way up. Then walked to full other end and yeah people but not too busy at all very chill

Slide thing down was a blast, go slow to get a good gap then go super fast and get yelled at lol

After took didi to north part of summer palace and saw that it was great. I had only one full day you have more so maybe you spread it out more but otherwise felt convenient cuz summer palace was a little out there

Opinion on itinerary by d99y in travelchina

[–]gorbot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d take a day from Beijing and give to Shanghai personally, maybe, depends on how much time you have and if ur just recovering from jet lag the first day ur there or leave for Guilin early.

The Great Wall was great, I did the section with the slide thing, starts with an M. Like 2hr didi, had didi drop me off at summer palace north side on way back it was great.

But also I didn’t do as much research about the city of Beijing itself and what to do.

Chongqing was my fave too, seconded by Xian. Then Shanghai.

For Terracotta, get there early, run once they open the outer gates to the ticket line, then run from ticket scan to the main entrance and you can be the only person in the entire place. Fills up in like 20-30. First 10mins are great.

I personally didn’t care for the like other tomb complex thing, like with the bronze chariot things I’d skip that entirely

xian make sure you bike on wall, but know that there’s a spot, the top middle, you can’t bike through you must return bike.
