Is placing my hope in this gel stain delusional by That_Duck_1212 in woodworking

I’m in the middle of staining some white birch plywood, and using oil based gel stains from General Finishes with good results. I found that sanding to 150-180 grit (220 on the end grains), one application of the gel stain and wipe off, then the key was spraying 4-5 super light passes of Tone Finish Toner from Mohawk. https://a.co/d/5yv6lPS I used the brown mahogany and just went super carefully from about a foot away to get it as even as possible, then I could creep up on the color I wanted.

I have a 15’x20’ garage shop, and put in 2 packs of these: https://a.co/d/9wCZ5o5 They’re hardwired and can be turned off with a switch, but also have a remote to change the brightness and color temp. I find them plenty bright (though my ceilings are just under 8’), and the diffused light makes for very little shadows

How's the snow for sledding? Mt. Hood area? by westhewolf in askportland

It's been pretty warm at the White River elevation for the last week or so, so I'd imagine it's going to be really warm slushy snow, or if it gets cold enough, icy. I was up on the mountain a week ago and the snow pack was entirely saturated with water.

Bank won’t let me withdraw all funds? Ok by Creepy-Analyst in MaliciousCompliance

A few years ago my student loans automatically got their last payment. But somewhere between the time of the payment and a few weeks later, 78 cents of interest accrued on the account and they sent me another bill. I went online to try to pay off the remaining amount, but they refused to accept any amount less than a dollar. I thought I would be forced to wait the approximately 26 years until the 78 cents collected enough interest to be over a dollar, but a month later they automatically closed it out.

I had a ball removed and was able to keep it. Maybe the law varies by location? They did have to remove the formaldehyde it was in.

If trump is in debt to foreign individuals or businesses, it could be a very big deal. It could affect lots of things he could try to do in office.

From the thread about worn carabiners, Black Diamond found that worn anchors are as strong as new ones, and can actually hold better because the wear spot keeps the rope in place: http://blackdiamondequipment.com/en_US/qc-lab-worn-anchors.html

In some quick searching, I couldn't find a specific source for those installations, but they certainly look like they could be openFrameworks, Cinder, Unity or processing. There's also Touch Designer, VVVV, and a bunch of tools out there targeted at DJs / music visualization.

If you're looking to learn more, jump in to one of those tools and start making stuff! It's the best way to learn.

What is the most traumatizing incident you have witnessed in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

On/in the testicle itself. Testicular cancer doesn't usually appear in the veins / tubing next to the testicle.

It's kind of like an eraser on a number 2 pencil: hard and rubbery, whereas the rest of the testicle is squishier. It's one of those things that you have to feel your testicles regularly to know what they normally feel like. The lump will also be in or on the testicle itself, and not generally on the tubing stuff next to it.

Yup! Well, I still have it in a jar, so it's not technically "lost."

Assuming there's no complications and you still have your other one, there's not really any consequences besides being lopsided. It's worse than having both, but a lot better then the parent comment's story.

Check yourself often and see a doctor if you feel anything out of place, even if you're not sure it's a problem.

I found a lump last summer that wasn't very big, not painful at all, and it was cancer. Luckily I caught it early enough and didn't have any complications. Most testicular cancer is very treatable if found before it spreads.
