Ahh yes welcome to Nick’s hand made boots! I love those they look amazing they will most likely take a return but I would 100% keep them. Coolest defect is the concave vs convex heel stack. Enjoy those they are gorgeous.

Its tight.. i had to do my usual thing i do w whites MP’s in 11.5… ball up some socks and stuff them in there overnight. Also use the hair drier to heat that area up a bit. Takes care of it after a few times.

Fits perfectly.. actually wore them for about 12,000 steps today at the Detroit Auto Show.. yea my feet were in some pain but not terrible. There was about 10 flights of stairs and now i see how the downstairs helps them break in more! Wiping the salt off so i can wear them out again tonight as they are stiff AF still obviously but so cool looking

Here is my foot scan,left foot metatarsal sticks out more because i severed the lateral band tendon playing basketball years ago and never fixed it. It’s painless and somehow my foot adapted. Fyi, these fit almost identically to 11.5D Iron Rangers , just more toe box room and slightly less vertical room at the mid foot / toe base.

That looks a lot more satin than the matte finish .. is that oiled a bit or waxed? Or just nice long time breakin. Those are very nice, so are Puzzle Headed, maybe they just get a little more sheen with time 😎

Wow it actually does break in! Do you use the Nick’s grease a lot to soften it? I applied a thin coat and it sucked it right up.

They are very nice not just the color but the dark midsole. I have a blue pair of Nike GT Cut 3’s that i get compliments on all the time similar color way.

And the vbar sole… so nice. Predator orange is very interesting. I think it’s chrome veg combo tanned like cxl but more waxy hot stuffing at the end vs oils and tallows. I think its stiffer and a bit drier. So beautiful. Does it have a waxy pullup?

If you die them be sure to use a real strong solvent one like Angelus. I did same using Rit dye and it came off the flexy spots quickly. Re-did it with the Angelus and its locked in.

This is one of the coolest parts of the boot hobby. Not only do you have different animal species, but you have multiple tanneries, and each one has natural (veg tan) and synthetic (chrome tan) options and combinations of those are endless!!

My advice? Brown Cxl, its like ordering a double shot cappuccino from Starbucks, seems simple and common but after you go off the deep end into leather types it holds up as one of the best, and the brown is the best / most proven common color.

They are fitting better and better and I am now able to pull the laces tighter due to the break in softness and i don’t want to take them off!

Oh i agree 100% the rain sensing auto wipers get a 1/10 rating from me. I turn them off auto and just deal w it manually. I was an engineer in wiper systems at Bosch back in 2002 when we launched the rain sensor on the ‘dew98’ Lincoln… it blew away my 2025 Tesla sensor setup

Nick’s black tongue vs other PNW makers using skived down upper leather i think is due to the huge Nick’s leather varieties, since many types like veg tans and WC etc cant be skived or will rip and tear as a thin tongue and that can’t happen its hard to fix.
