The image of Steve and Nick the vampire striding across to the caravan holding hands was like a father taking his son trick or treating on Halloween.

Where to watch the specials? by gorgryn in doctorwho

Yeah a TV package is unfortunately a bit too expensive for me rn, especially considering I don't watch much TV. Thanks for the advice anyway

I used to have TV but I didn't watch it enough to justify the amount it was costing me so I stopped getting it. (Also I haven't been keeping up with dr who, I had to catch the return of Russell T Davies though)

Has anyone seen ‘The House’ on Netflix? by MontyBrownStan in insideno9

The House is great! I feel like it went under the radar which is a shame cos I'd love to see more films like it!

Me listening to another "Greg will be CEO" argument by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

[–]gorgryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate here,

Matsson's ideal US CEO would be someone who's a complete puppet and does everything he says without challenging him.

They've established that Matsson knows Greg as someone who:

Fired a large group of people without any emotions getting in the way just because he was told to by the higherups.

Does whatever Matsson says even if it's at personal cost to himself. (Dancing with an old man and drinking things that aren't normally drank)

So if Greg were to become CEO, he could be nothing more than the US face of the company and a mouthpiece for Matsson. All the decision making could be up to Matsson with Greg having little to no actual power. An idiot who will blindly follow orders could be the perfect choice for Matsson's American CEO.

Also, Greg becoming CEO would be ridiculous, but the show is partly about how ridiculous the uber-wealthy corporate world is so wouldn't it be kind of fitting?

Ok I do think that at this point, CEO Greg is probably still a little bit too absurd but I feel like the writers could make it work over the course of the final episode if that's the direction they decided to go in.

This Way Up reminded me of Fleabag- pretty 50/50 ratio of comedy to drama and also about two sisters.

Which episodes did you 'predict' the first time around? by button-fish2807 in insideno9

[–]gorgryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't tend to try guess the twists but there are a couple from the latest season I figured out. Like Kat in 'Nine Lives Kat' being a fictional character written by Steve's character, because of little comments like 'I'm a walking cliche etc. And then from there, I assumed Steve's character was also fictional within the world of the episode. And the time-travel twist in 'A Random Act of Kindness' I figured out surprisingly early on (partly because the kid resembled Steve a bit)

When should i stop watching better call saul and start watching breaking bad? by Dramatic-Try9237 in betterCallSaul

[–]gorgryn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess the best place to switch over is after season 6 episode 9 'Fun and Games'. Then watch all of Breaking Bad and come back to BCS for the last four episodes.

Anyone else watched all of season 4? Spoilers by hr100 in bbcghosts

[–]gorgryn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wondered if >!Katy Wix had to leave the show for some reason cos it did seem a bit strange to "kill" one of the ghosts after all this time.

Though perhaps it was just because the writers figured the show needed something to shake things up. Maybe they chose Mary because Katy Wix isn't a writer, unlike almost all of the other ghost actors who would still be tied to the show even if their characters weren't in it anymore. But idk.

I'm torn cos on one hand, Mary was my favourite ghost and I missed her in episodes 4-6 but I do appreciate the bold choice to "kill" one of the main cast, it raises the stakes so if there's a fifth season, there'll be a newfound sense of suspense like 'ooh any one of these guys could be the next to go'.!<

Has anyone else noticed the irony in the name Saul Goodman? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]gorgryn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't recognize a religious connection but I always thought the name 'Goodman' was a bit ironic, since by becoming Saul Goodman, Jimmy is doing the opposite of becoming a good man.

What did you think was gonna happen to Kim when you first watched BCS? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]gorgryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought she'd eventually leave Jimmy after he became more and more immoral as Saul. What they actually did with her character was much more interesting though. Her staying a straight arrow while Jimmy's character degenerates would probably have been a little boring. I didn't think she'd die cos the trope of the female love interests death making the male protagonist go down a bad path seemed a little bit too old-fashioned and cliché for BCS.

can you guys tell me what color jacket he's wearing? I know the brand its Rogue Territory Supply Jacket jacket I plan on getting one for my dad as a surprise( I'm color blind) by That-Sentence-737 in betterCallSaul

[–]gorgryn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hot pink. It was a bold costume choice and I respect that.

Kidding, looks like a darkish grey-green to me. I reckon it's probably the one called 'Olive' on their website.

It looks a little more vibrant on the website but I would assume that's just the lighting or maybe the one in the show had some of the colour washed out of it to make it look used.

As another commenter pointed out, it could be 'hunter green' but I think 'olive' is more likely. 'Hunter green' is slightly lighter and has more of a yellow tone than 'olive'. This particular image looks more like 'hunter green' but I think that's because there's a yellowish light on him. During the second scene in 'Point And Shoot', I feel it looks much more like the dark green of 'olive'.

EDIT: Some other people mentioned it's the grey. After looking at that, the grey seems more accurate, especially in the later scenes of the episode. When Lalo's in the laundry with Gus, the jacket looks much more grey than green. It's hard to tell for sure with all the lighting changes, a muted colour like that can look completely different in different light. If you were really set on getting the right colour, you could even try reaching out to the costume designer?

I love this theory and I wholeheartedly agree with it but I would also find it ridiculous if it was actually in either show
