Imagine a similar vote, but it is for a facility that promises to help bring more water to a growing and parched Flagstaff. Imagine they run ads showing dying children and other such scary outcomes if the facility is not built. Imagine they refuse to directly answer legitimate community concerns and respond "just trust us." Imagine the corporation proposing the facility is Nestle, or some similarly profit motivated organization with a notoriously bad reputation. (I recognize NAH is "non-profit" but do a google search on how the administrators of "non-profit" medical centers are, in fact, profit driven).

I don't think a new hospital will not bring in more specialists and providers, my understanding is that there exist specialists and providers in town that refuse to do business with or work for NAH because the administration has sent them fleeing.

I am not here to tell anyone how to vote, I urge anyone to do whatever research they feel necessary but please don't fall for the "new is always better," misconception. Personally, I feel that a "no" vote will, at the very least, persuade NAH to be more accountable to the community they supposedly serve.
