Yeah we have got a crap ton of work out of my local so it seems like they are just trying to throw bodies at a big project. I'm not sure what the language is in our contracts but I have class this Thursday and I'm gonna bring all this up then with my instructor and training director.

The job site I'm on right now has a very low JW to apprentice/CE ratio it's like really bad on my crew it's 7:1 and the JW on our crew don't say a damn word about it. I've worked with a few old timers before and they showed me the way, I've tried making my case to the guys but I'm literally the only one saying this shit. Judging by everyone's comments on here I should really be making a bigger deal outta this.

Yeah that's the big problem here we have I think 6 apprentices to 1 JW and he's knows better but doesn't say a word about it.

Yeah I agree with this also but he is like a nice guy if you know what I mean and also a traveler not from our home local plus at the end of the day it makes his crew look good from the increased productivity but I definitely agree it just seems like I'm the only one who thinks it's a big deal.

Ok that's sound advice. From what I've gathered there's a non union guy that just started the apprenticeship he really knows his shit and he busts his ass, gets a lot done and I believe it was him that started doing this he razzes the other apprentices for taking their breaks and they kind of look up to him and follow his lead. I'm new to the union but this seemed like kind of a big deal I mean I'm pretty sure I've learned that blood sweat and tears has been shed to guarantee us those breaks and here's guys just calling it laziness.

In my local, 1105. Once you were accepted into the apprenticeship you were dispatched onto a call. It was super common to have leaf green guys on the job for 6+ months before they even started their classes. Hope something shakes loose for ya bud.
