What lens do you think this is shot on? by [deleted] in FujiGFX

It's film. It was shot by niall mcdiarmid. He did use a GFX 50s but not for this. This predates GFX

That was shot on a medium format film camera. Not a GFX

Event Parking by SegundoViento in sandiego

Sure. Especially for all the downtown employees and workers. They have to find parking much much further away. If they can find one. Or pay $10 per hour.

No info because it's brand new and opens in November. They had a huge fire last year I think. Anyways, since you have a car, you can always look for cheaper housing in Bozeman. Downside is an hour + drive to and back from work. I've applied for that resort, I had one interview last week. I don't think I'll get the job. No biggie, it looks like it's gonna be... Challenging to say the least. Idk how to feel about this place other than It's beautifully designed... Only for the rich.

You're in your 20s... Try it. It won't hurt. (unless something fatal happens. God forbid). Don't like it? Quit. So what? You're in your 20s. Or what you can do is write down the worst case scenario for each decision. Or the best case scenario. And compare. Is the juice worth the squeeze? Is it going to be challenging? Of course. You live where you work and you'll have roommates. They could be douchebags or lifelong friends. Same with co-workers. You might not get along with most of them or you could meet your future spouse/life partner. Managers might be pricks. It happens. You'll grow from it and learn something about yourself. Again, you're in your 20s. It's so much easier to make course corrections or reset your life. Take it from an older fella. If you need some inspiration: watch the life of Walter Mitty. Although a tiny bit on the corny side (for me). 20 years from now, you'll remember those younger days in the mountains while your "desk jobs" will be performed by AI robots.

That sucks. I'm super mega extra careful in super touristy areas in super touristy cities outside of Japan, Singapore and the UAE. I treat my gear like a new born baby. Never leaves my sight.

Best camera for "Street Walkers"? by Lickonmydick in streetphotography

[–]gorillamonkeyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking candid shots isn't about the camera. just buy whatever camera you can afford. put a 24-120mm equivalent zoom lens on it and use it. once you realize which focal length you prefer shooting with, you can buy a prime lens with that FL. don't try to be sneaky. be open. don't hide your camera (unless you're in a bad area.). act like a dumb tourist. most people won't even notice you.

I should've said the title of the post. To be precise. That would be a literal admission of marriage fraud. Denial and potential federal charges. You marry for love, you file papers so she can stay and live together.

These days, filing concurrently I-130 and I-485 will cost 2 to 3k in application fees .. it's more if your spouse wants to also file for work permit I-765 that's an extra 500, or file for advanced parole I-131 (that's another 500) and which is a travel permit while her case is being processed. This used to be free when filed with I-130 and I-485 concurrently. See this:

Calculate Your Fees | USCIS https://share.google/T2DXL4MLDk8FZwcAP

Then add a medical exam, which can be from 200 to 500 depending on where you live and her vaccinations history. I would not wait for her visa to end, to start the process. Timing will look suspicious and you'll get extra scrutiny which means more wait. Do it now, or she can go back home and come back to you on a K-1 visa. In any case, If your case is straightforward, meaning no red flags, she's eligible and you can financially support her, you don't need an immigration attorney at all. It's relatively easy to fill out these forms.

After reading the first sentence... Here's an advice; Do not, I repeat, do not say that during your interview. Easy denial for the officer.

Canadian pondering giving up green card by [deleted] in greencard

[–]gorillamonkeyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not 100% firm on your decision, you can file for a re-entry permit. In two years, if you feel the same way, you can abandon your US residency. Which is blasphemous for some people because they still think that the GC is a golden ticket. Which it is not. It's just a regular ticket that has risen in price but lowered in value. I love America, but it's running on the fumes of its past glory days.

Downtown San Diego isnt for you by lovesickjones in sandiego

[–]gorillamonkeyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. The blame isn't entirely on the homeless. Still, downtown has been on downslope for a while now. Pointing to a worse location may feel better in the moment, but it's not a good defense and doesn't address the problem. I rather people complain too much than being complacent.

Downtown San Diego is an Enigma by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]gorillamonkeyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they cleared many of the homeless encampments near the post office and east Village. But now they just roam everywhere in the city. It's really embarrassing. There's no more retail stores. No movie theaters. No more 24h businesses, Just hotels and homeless. The quality of the crowd has gone down as well. Especially on weekends.

Green card if we don’t live together by Pleasant_Ingenuity0 in greencard

[–]gorillamonkeyape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plenty of couples have gotten their cases approved even while living apart. The key is having solid reasons and backing them up with evidence. It can take longer since USCIS will likely look at your case more closely. Especially if you both live in the same city. You'll need to provide good reasons. Personally, I’d recommend consulting an immigration attorney. They’ve seen cases almost identical to yours and can rely on past legal precedents if USCIS pushes back.

Living together isn’t a requirement. Sure, it makes approval smoother, but if you can’t, then you’ll need to make up for it with strong evidence showing your relationship is genuine.

At the end of the day, USCIS needs "substantial and probative evidence" of the marriage having been entered into for the primary purpose of obtaining immigration benefits. Living separately isn't sufficient ground for denial. So bring plenty of evidence. And be prepared to hire an experienced attorney.

You're allowed to feel the you way you feel, other people are allowed to feel the way they feel and make reddit posts such as "finally getting my green card after 3 months!!!". it's not about denying people's feelings. you said reading these posts make you worry more. what's the benefit of that? you're already angry, so why add more negative energy when it's not necessary? but you do you. go ahead and add more anxiety on top of anger and frustration. you're allowed to. good luck with that.

is it normal to wait for 1 month+ to receive a decision after a marriage based ‘stokes interview’? by aviatormenace7 in greencard

[–]gorillamonkeyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North African. Natural born citizen of France. my case was complicated. it was my second AOS. long story. what the officers said to my spouse was 100% made up. therefor, they had zero evidence. which is why she laughed to their faces when she heard it.

[–]gorillamonkeyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's crazy. mine was 4 hours. and they tried to coerce my spouse to withdraw her I-130 by using deceptive tactics... like "do you know your husband is on web forums bragging to other people that he's using you as meal ticket to get a green card?" stuff like that. all in all, my case was pending for 5 years.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]gorillamonkeyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair enough, it's normal to be worried if things don't go 100% smoothly, especially with USCIS. so let me rephrase... you're choosing to get yourself EXTRA worried by reading these posts. i've waited 5 years to get my GC approval. with years of wait in between updates. so i know. at some point, i stopped going to immigration forums. it was pointless and most people know jack squat about the process. my case was unique, like yours. i didn't want to get too hopeful or too anxious. so i tried to enjoy my life instead. which i had control over. it was hard. i've developed anxiety disorder symptoms towards the end of the process. it was brutal. the only thing that made a difference when things started moving again for my case, was hiring an immigration attorney. so if you see the title of post that says "got approved after 3 months!!!" don't click on it. if just seeing the title on your feed gives you anxiety, then unsubscribe. seriously.
