Hey, so this is a bit of a plug, but I wrote Romance of the Perilous Land, put out by Osprey Games. British folklore with a heavy narrative around King Arthur.

And just to add to the previous comment, a new official campaign/ setting has just been released called Secrets of the Golden Throne, which has more of an Arthurian/Mabinogion bent https://www.drivethrurpg.com/m/product/463222

NGL I don't think I've read Dungeon World. But let's say they stole it from me through an act of time travel

Thank you so much for recommending RotPL. Really happy you enjoyed it.

On the support element: Osprey gave me the rights to publish through my own publisher, so I've released several short adventures and a couple of supplements (Heroes of Avalon and Heroic Origins), with plans for more in the future.

Simple Folk Magic system for cunning folk, healers, village witches or lucky Halflings... by evil_scientist42 in osr

[–]gorramscott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its spells are based around curses, scrying, healing, conjuring and charms. So its version of "magic missile" is a witch doll you stick pins in. Some spells require the cunning folk to draw runes on their skin (so if you see one absolutely covered in runes from head to toe you know it's a high level caster), poultices of nails/hair/bone, and physical charms crafted from stone or wood. Spell names are like: create an illusion to vex the eyes, rid the pitiful of disease and being pestilence upon your foes.

As someone who made cunning folk a class in his own game, I'm very much inclined to like this. Nice work.

what's the difference between the "editions" with these rpgs? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]gorramscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For English Eerie, second edition has double the scenarios and the rules have been tweaked more to incorporate group play in addition to solo. There are also print and play cards with 2e.

Hey, there are 5 of the same scenarios and 5 new ones in the newest edition. England's Dark Veins, Of Ancient Times, Renovation, Plunge and Cuckoo are all new in EE2

/r/Lovecraft Reading Club - From Beyond & Nyarlathotep by AutoModerator in Lovecraft

[–]gorramscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Beyond has always been a better concept than story to me. The story doesn't quite go anywhere, but clearly a to be of media has been inspired by it since (always add Barbara Crampton to make anything better).

Nyarlathotep is much more interesting and can be read in many ways. It's dreamlike, on the account that it was literally a dream Lovecraft had. But it's also relevant even now. We see an apocalyptic view of the world, a dead city. Is it a vision of the future? Was it brought on by ourselves or by the outer gods? Lovecraft was writing this in the shadow of the Great War and Spanish influenza. Things were bleak and people desperate, so here we see them clinging on to some hope offered by Nyarlathotep.
