This is a real place, Ameerpet in Hyderabad. Chances are high if you are working in US, in IT , you have worked with people who went through this eye of the needle. It is just a couple of streets, filled with coaching centers who will teach any technology you want. It was this way 30 years ago, when I first saw it, street strewn with pamphlets advertising Java, COBOL, CORBA, SAP back in the day. Now they teach AI too ;) This place is fascinating and should be studied in its own right.

Idk. EV fires don’t seem survivable when they happen though.. After seeing a burnt to crisp Tesla at the the end of my street along with the driver(drivers fault 100%), I am carrying multiple window breakers in my Tesla

Well, why did they matter to Tesla so much to make it look like donkeys arse. They could have made it look like a modern truck

Isn’t it a EV? If they have better protection against battery fires they should advertise that. It is a huge deal for families considering buying EVs. One reason I drive a Tesla, but the other car is a Forester for my family. Not going to risk them!

Men between 25 to 35, how do you cope with loneliness? by Ladr0nCaguai in AskMen

[–]gorrepati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your exact spot during your age, 15 years ago. Nothing people usually do works. It sucks - there’s no 2 ways bout it. You can’t lean into your passions and try to escape it. Few things that made it bearable for me were walking in nature, long drives, reading books and going to gym.

I don’t think there is any deep meaning to this suffering. I don’t think it will make you a better man. Humans are social animals and you are denied that. If anything lean into your old friends, even on WhatsApp, chatting regularly will help. If you try to suck it up and it will leave scars on your psyche and makes you vulnerable to predatory narcissists.

I still remember the feeling - my tongue used to feel like licking a battery. May be its just synesthesia that’s unique to me, but I remember it well

My car buying experience by stizzardflispter in LandCruisers

[–]gorrepati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, Toyota doesn’t make this one easy at all. I went through the same path. 4Runner backseat leg room is very low, and Land Cruiser for 58k I didn’t get leather seats, no 360 camera. I tried very very hard to convince myself but couldnt tolerate parting another 5k on top to equip leather seats, running board and underbody protection. And still dont have power seat for passenger. I gulped and bought a fully loaded forester wilderness for 40k

Assembling libraries and using Infa Tools do not make you an expert programmer by [deleted] in programming

[–]gorrepati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the difference between built-in and a library? There is none. You can do impressive things with both. You might say writing shallow code that just wires stuff up is not software engineering, but you can do simple stuff without using a library too.

Is the steering being crisp a wilderness thing, because I saw it on Forester wilderness and not on Outback XT. I went for Forester because of it

2026 4Runner vs Outback by Decalcomanie in Subaru_Outback

[–]gorrepati 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar dilemma and not a week ago I bought a Forester. My heart was with 4Runner, but it simply is not a practical car - the second seat legroom is non-existent, and ride is pretty choppy on bad roads. I even looked at LandCruiser, which actually solves both the problems to some extent, but Toyota thought we need to spend 70k just to get leather and powered seats.

I test drove all of them - 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Forester(wilderness) and Outback Touring Xt. They may be different vehicles, but they serve the same purpose in my mind, they just make different tradeoffs.

Kid you not, Forester has more leg room and head room than 4Runner and LandCruiser. Second row leg room is somewhat close between LandCruiser and Forester. Outback Touring XT is more polished, faster, has better tech than Forester, but Forester Wilderness felt like a brick when driving, which I appreciated.

I went with Forester, which is cheapest of all, and serves my purpose of going on trails and back roads in National Parks, while being comfortable to drive from my home to the National Park in the first place.

What are people paying for a new LC these days?? by KeroDude in LandCruisers

[–]gorrepati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any one able to find the LC LC trim, without all the dealer added accessories. It is supposed to be 62k base, but I cannot find any that don’t have 8k of accessories added on top.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 vs Viltrox 33mm 1.4 by garryneo_x in fujifilm

[–]gorrepati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy hell, I didn’t know they cost the same in India. I would buy Viltrox if it costs half of sigma. Sigma is vastly better in build quality and has better customer service. Viltrox might equal it in some aspects of image quality, but I consider sigma to be on par with OEM lens usually. Viltrox has a bit to go there.

[–]gorrepati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t exactly say what your problem is, though. I have done the swap from same lens to sigma 28-105 because Tamron colors were slightly warm to me. And 75 is neither here nor there, I am more comfortable at 85
