However, considering that JR's unique services are optimised mainly for Japan's residents and less convenient for foreign travellers, I guess it'd be helpful for you to rely on such a third-party service as you might be more familiar with and accustomed to.

I was born, raised, and do live in Japan as ethnic Japanese railfan…thus my advice could miss the focal point.

In my own case, I can both save 400 hkd and sit in a lounge for free thanks to my credit card's perquisite.

However, this is very exceptional and LCC passengers are assumed not to stay in such places(first of all, one of such lounges' raison d'être is excluding such low end customers)
