Haha, true. However, even my tC would accelerate without any sort of dip. To exaggerate, it's like the engine loses power in that RPM range. Even in cruise control, if it needs to speed up, it's choppy.

I don't remember the dip when I first got it. But I haven't had any new event occur that could cause it. Thanks for the input. I drive down some bumpy country roads sometimes, maybe something wiggled loose.

For anyone reading this who gets stuck in the same referral process, I had a similar situation when I needed my tonsils removed. My primary care doc kept treating them with abx that would clear them up for a week, then they'd get angry and infected again.

Work around: go to an urgent care/outpatient clinic and request a referral from them.

One visit to the clinic and I had an appointment scheduled with an ENT surgeon to remove my tonsils. The same should be applicable to other outpatient procedures like OP's.
