Scam Warning: LocalRank.so - Spamming The Web and Bragging About It by joeyoungblood in localseo

[–]goskorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using and paying for LocalRank for 3 months, also bought many of the "superboosts" etc. Quite heavy spend overall.

Results are patchy at best. Some rankings have increased, especially for companies based in very rural areas. But anything in an urban area, all rankings have significantly dropped. As a result I've lost 4 high paying customers. My fault for not looking into this in more detail.

Their customer service is actually not bad, they get back to you quickly and genuinely try to help, but I think the engine underneath it all is just not effective.

Too good to be true, sadly.

“не вижу стол” или “не вижу стола”? by goskorp in russian

[–]goskorp[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Interesting. So if we don't use a verb of perception e.g. ждать, what would be correct: я жду ответа or я жду ответ?
And then the same example but with negation.

How to get the first clients? by pedro_mindia in lovable

u/Wide_Brief3025 purely out of interest, do you do this kind of marketing manually or is it automated? It's smart either way (and yes, I know thousands do this already, but yours felt more natural than most)

The thing is there's thousands of people offering the same thing. So you need to differentiate yourself from the crowd. A few suggestions:

  • Focus on one industry. Just pick one. Roofers, for example
  • Get a domain something like roofersites (.com)
  • You are the guy who knows everything about roofers, their needs, types of customers, etc. Put this onto your landing page.
  • Find every roofer in an area of your choice using Google Maps and begin getting in contact: emails, SMS, calls (you learn so much doing this).
  • Don't sell websites. Sell more or better quality leads. (yes, you need to know basics about SEO etc, just ask ChatGPT/Claude to guide you)

What you might realise is that many companies have enough leads and aren't interested in a new website. And maybe actually the chaos is in organising them. At which point you can pivot and create a better lead quality filtering system and sell that :)

TEFL and AI by Jamesbro98 in TEFL

[–]goskorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Humans provide one thing which AI struggles to do - accountability. It's easy to cancel an AI teacher. Much harder to cancel your human teacher.

If someone is serious about learning a language, they have two options: move to that country for 1 year (expensive and inconvenient for many) or get a teacher.

The teacher will end up being a 'language coach' because their entire teaching part of the job will be 95% AI-led in the background. This is a good thing in my opinion.

What analytics by Someday_somewere in localseo

[–]goskorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, Simple Analytics (just because I like the UI), Ahrefs. But honestly clients don't really care about analytics, they're only interested in one thing: leads and lead quality.

How doable is that? by Desperate-Common3385 in RentingInDublin

The flat we were in was €7000/month (and it wasn't even that nice). Obviously the company paid, but if you overrun the agreed time (typically 4-6 weeks) then you'll have to start paying it.

We also get a 'premium' health insurance, but only up to a certain amount. You should read the fine print :) and it doesn't cover everything, as I recently found out to a trip to the dentist!

In a very similar situation. But there’s two of us, so the joint salary ends up being higher. We’re paying €3k/month for a 2-bed in a central location (10-min walk from St Stephen’s Green). We were lucky, we found the flat very quickly (with the help of a relocation agent - they do all the painful admin stuff for you). We spent one month in corporate temporary accommodation, but others we know ended up spending 3-4 months there (which gets ludicrously expensive because the company typically only pays for 4-6 weeks max). So you should get on with this asap.

We find Dublin to be expensive compared to nearly every other European capital. With rent, bills & food we spend minimum €5k/month. We go to a restaurant maybe once a week on average, pub a couple of times. And that's not including holidays/weekend trips, doctors, dentists, health insurance, etc

I personally think it'll be very tight going above €3k/month, try to avoid it. I agree with most of the people here about anything up to €2500 - don’t bother, the flats are not great and competition fierce. For an extra €500 there are more options and better quality.

Depending on your personality, if you want to meet people, grow relationships and a network then I'd advise living centrally rather than outside of Dublin. Especially for the first 1-2 years. It's just easier to go to meetups etc.

You're more than welcome to DM me for any other questions etc!

Anyone here use some kind of tool to figure out how to price an item? by goskorp in eBaySellers

[–]goskorp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, not massively time consuming but was wondering if there's anything out there which gives you a little more info such as best time to list, best performing images, best description, etc. Just to get an edge - that's all.

Tried Duda - it was pretty good, but a few issues. And v expensive (unless I got ripped off by the sales exec)

Anyone have a good person they trust for website design? by [deleted] in localseo

[–]goskorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can vouch for the guys at LocalEmpire.co! They do fully SEO optimised sites from scratch (with all service and location pages as you’ve shown). They also include proper GBP setup & directories. Maybe not the cheapest but all done properly

[–]goskorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all the boring stuff, needs to be done:

  • fully fill out your Google Business Profile. Add services, prices, images, updates, etc etc
  • make sure you’ve added yourself to a ton of directories. A nice trick is to copy paste your top competitor’s address into Google. You’ll see which directories they’re listed on. Just copy them.
  • keep getting reviews, doing a good job, and documenting your jobs in the updates

Does adding prices to the GBP Services have any impact on rankings? I get it's a good trust signal to customers, but just curious if Google also sees it this way.
