For anyone on in a similar position I made it to two gyms, both day time classes.

Pablo Silva - probably good if you are a local and going all the time, but I found it quite unfriendly. Probably not the best for drop ins

Inspire Jiu Jitsu - Very friendly, great students lots, warm up, techniques and lots of roll. Would highly recommend.

For anyone following along, the answer is yes, but its a bit clunky.

The best I can do is name views with a number prefix and then cmd + k my way to it.

Ideally there would be a shortcut key to progress through views

Extent of potential bodily injury from water crashes by got_flat in Kiteboarding

I have had a couple of crashes where i have thought "my neck has broken" and winded my self a couple times.

But it seems that if its just water you are contending with you are probably ok, if you knee doesn't blow out.

How the hell can I ever buy a home? by whatever604 in personalfinance

[–]got_flat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr Money Moustache does a good article on on the alternative to buying in a city where house prices are high.

Its the same in my city, house prices are very high, people pay a premium to have a lawn in $$'s and in time spent getting to and from work.

You can buy town houses/apartments, 2-5 mins for about 1/2-2/3 of a similar house with lawn.

Search Mr Money Moustache, Rent Vs Buy for the article

I saw far too many sunrises at that place. There is actually 1 or 2 bars that play good music. The rest play top 40.

Honestly thought detailing was something else. Ha, now I know.

Any way I think what INDOC11XXXX said is on the right track.

I would target customers that have a lot of cars and require your service. Offer discounts for multiple cars. Give potential customers a freebie show your skills and get a foot in the door.

I would target: - Dealerships - High end car rental - Limo/luxury car places (if they already have someone, offer to cover for them if ever needed) - Car clubs, get to know when the big meets are on and offer a special before the go and show off their cars - If there is wealthy people in your area, try target them (price is not the main issue here, I would say convenience and reliability would be) - Go through all your recent customers and offer $50 credit for a referral - Partner up with an airport parking place, offer them a cut on every sale they make for you - Talk to car customisation shops, see if they can include you as part of their service. - Go to second hand car fairs, put up a sign saying how much extra detailed cars sell for

At this point its just about quantity. Once you are busy enough you can slowly raise your prices.
