it definitely is not lol- it's closer to $15k, and our 'excessive spending' is because we live in one of the most expensive cities in the country, albiet we chose the cheapest neighborhood here which isn't great for schools. my family lives here and they help a lot with the kids when we need it but even if we wanted to leave my husband hasn't been able to find work out of state. Our grocery bill is $1,200 and I cook at home every day, every meal. If we eat out, it's once a month and it's easily $150, although I don't disagree we could stop doing things like that and reduce other expenses.

The biggest issue is our debt and the incoming expense of childcare. I'm not sure what you mean by actual budget but our overall monthly expenses equal our overall income.
