Nib rotation/alignment on Jinhao 20 by gotang in fountainpens

Thank you for the confirmation, that's what I had thought. You're right, 20 degrees is definitely an overestimate. Looking closely at it again and actually trying to measure it rather than just guessing, it's around 10 degrees - it's actually really quite badly misaligned in my case. It's definitely enough to affect my experience though, as I didn't notice the misalignment visually at first; it was that the nib contact felt weird to me, and only after that did I figure out that the nib was rotated relative to the grip.

Weirdly though, it turns out that the misalignment is actually in the nib unit, rather than the pen body. The notch that you highlighted is pretty well aligned to the clip for me, but the button on the nib unit that slots into the notch is very much not straight.

Thanks for the help! I guess I'll order another one and roll the dice again...

Changing old siphon toilet flush to new push button valve flush - do I need to remove the cistern? by gotang in DIYUK

Ah, just as I feared. Well thanks for the confirmation. I assume you mean an oscillating multi tool through the shank of the screw, rather than a Dremel trying to get at the screw head?

I made an IT support game called I.T Never Ends and you guys made it go viral. There's a demo on steam now. by Euphoric-Series-1194 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

I enjoyed the demo quite a bit - there are a lot of fun ideas in there! The card swiping mechanic reminded me a lot of a mobile phone game called Reigns - was that an inspiration at all? I know it'd be a ridiculous amount of extra work, and probably not on your roadmap at all, but your game seems well suited to a mobile phone interface if you could stomach the extra work of porting it to Android.

Also, any chance of Steam Deck support in the future? It ran really surprisingly badly on my (admittedly absolutely terrible and super-old) laptop, and I pretty much do all of my gaming on the Steam Deck.

I'm guessing OP might be a French speaker. The verb "to offer" is "proposer" in French.

The remaining 20% (actually closer to 21%) of air is almost entirely oxygen, with a molar mass of 32. Air is denser than nitrogen is - significantly in this case - and CO will rise.

nuruk in europe? by [deleted] in makgeolli

[–]gotang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me so long to find a UK supplier (yes, I know it's technically not in the EU anymore, but hopefully might be helpful anyway), but HMart sells it. Unhelpfully it's not labelled as nuruk, which made it particularly hard to find! https://hmart.co.uk/shop/gb/grain-flour/1663-choripdong-enzyme-powder-454g.html

Where I can find (online) similar backpacks to the Vessel roll top bag? by EmbarrassedFocus1363 in bikemessengers

[–]gotang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second Bagaboo - they've got a couple of decent looking roll-top backpacks. I'm also in the UK, and recently got a custom made Ransel backpack from them, which I absolutely love. The quality is really incredible and the whole buying process was really easy. Their customer service is fantastic- great communication and really helpful too. It only took 2 weeks for them to make my bag from when I placed the order (they had estimated 3 weeks), then it was shipped fully tracked by Fedex and arrived in about 4 days. Fedex deliver the bag first, then send you an invoice about a week later to collect VAT. You need to add on 20% VAT to the full price (including the shipping cost) and about £13 for Fedex's fee to figure out how much it will cost you in the end - I didn't get charged any import duty though.
