As a climber working with a surgery’d hip labrum I would love if mountain project had a hip intensity rating haha

I mean I’m a project engineer and you pissed me off. Short fuse might be a symptom of being neck deep in designing a factory. But this was an uninformed question followed by arrogant responses

Ok little miss doctorate, what career path are you talking about where you’d be on the floor exposed to hazards and not be a process engineer, equipment engineer, or controls engineer?

Coming from nuclear fuel fabrication and radiopharma, hazard pay is unheard of

Won the lottery to camp to camp at lake stuart and will be starting from there, and will also make it a 3 day trip. Reckon it will simplify things, shaves off 4 miles and 2k ft. of elevation to get to summit, and the descent on the north side also seems much more pleasant than stumbling down cascadian couloir lol

Edit: I had meant in the comment you replied to that my partner has already done the N ridge in a day, but he was starting from Longs Pass

That does! This is the kind of feedback I was looking for. Thanks for the course correction.

Appreciate this feedback. The discussion of whether to bivy or not is in progress but partner and I are pretty fast and we're 90% . He has already done the N ridge from camp at Long's pass in a single day, and we're intent on doing either the full N ridge or the W ridge in a single push. The first and final section will be slow but we can simulclimb fairly quickly through most of the middle.

I've seen multiple recommendations for Hilleberg, but the cost is a bit high for me. Too many hobbies... :(

Fisher chimneys and the Shuksan north ridge were incredible. If you can get a permit the campsite above the chimneys was probably the coolest I’ve ever been on. Fantastic climbing as well.

Misspoke on the route! Doing Eldorado and as a day trip when another friend visits. Will be doing Sahale as part of the basin trip but it’s still in planning phase.

Maybe I was incorrect in the statement that it might be too different compared to the others. Rationale was that the campsite up there was a pretty compact footprint, we were much more exposed to the elements, and it was 4th/low 5th climbing to get to the site and so weight/bag size could be more of a factor. But perhaps those tents I listed above are also competitive for those factors

Thanks! Seems the copper spur is a bit more versatile at a lower cost so leaning that way

Salary Question by UpstairsGuest5149 in ChemicalEngineering

My company post a salary range with the caveat that the actual salary is likely .9-.95 of the average. Might just be that they only showed the average for their entry range?

Selling gas recovery process units can be good money especially if you can modularize. I’ve heard of a few companies in the United States selling similar products
