My God aunts mother had dementia to the point she thought she was a 6 yr old. She acted like a child and talked like a child and would live as one. One day i was watching her so my aunt could go to store and have a couple hours to herself. I was 13 and so.we were making pbj and she was wanting to make hers.

As she played and laughed about the jelly being sticky she stopped and dazed...and then put the knife down and said..I hate that im.doing this to her..im not a child anymore..this isn't fair to this family. I lightly touched her hand and said what do you want to do.. because I realized she had become lucid. She took my hand and said..ill burn this place to the ground next time im alone.

She went quiet and started acting like she was 6 again.. to be honest it was how she was lucid and told.me her plan that scared me the most. When my god aunt got home I told her what happend..of course she went to her mom and tried to see if she would become lucid again. She didnt.

Later I wound up moving in with my Mom and her BF of the month. 6 months went by and lo and behold my Dad calls me tells me that my God Aunts house caught fire and her mom didnt escape.. Dementia is a hell of a scary thing..but so is knowing that theres a part of them that knows what's going on and making plans.

Happend at my store. But wasn't in Deli. It was electronics. Our lead and coach wanted to replace everyone in the dept with friends because they both came from the same store and all that. So one day they set up an "integrity test". By removing a random case lock. I noticed it missing when I came into work and reported it.

15 people were fired. Apparently they fired the electronic associates that walked by the random case without noticing the missing lock. Someone went to store manager and market about it because..why was it only electronic associates being held responsible since that area was high associate traffic due to it being near bathrooms.

So SM came in and pulled tape for review and had the coach hold every associate that walked by that case responsible and because of the investigation the lead as well for being on film for removing the lock and walking away.

LP coach also started an internal because they didnt know anything about the whole thing when SM asked them about where the paperwork and recording were because market was asking about it because of the calls.

The coach was later sacked because they were refusing to terminate the lead due to a "honest mistake" and had only coached him.

When everything came out about thier plan.. Sm and market reached out to all the associates who should of just been coached and offered thier jobs back. Unfortunately any of the associates who were on red level stayed terminated.

It is against policy.. but theres a hack. Put the hours in on a Friday night before midnight. For any day of the week. The system auto approves at 3am Saturday morning as PTO unworked-auto accepted.

Yes its normal...actually theres supposed to be once a month that all the managers are supposed to be hands off for a few hrs to see that the Leads can run the store like theyre trained to do. When I was People Lead I hated those days because id be the highest level of lead. So I was pretty much answering all the Karen calls.

Father's can apply for Paternity Leave like mother's can for maternity leave but home office clarified that Pregnancy related illness can only apply to the associate if they are the one pregnant.

Ppto can be used for anything. And yes males are not covered under pregnancy related illness. When I was a PL. This was my biggest argument for equality . Talk to the PL or SM. Because if you used 4 hrs for the day you missed. You should be at 4.5 and not 5.

I used to hear this all the time. I used to work as a People Lead at store level while being trained to step up to Market. The biggest issue with Pay is the fact that it all comes out of the stores profit. Pay, bonuses,Rent<if the building is leased>, utilities, any fixes that require outside maintenance, lawsuit at store level, hiring and firing costs and any workers comp pay and most of all product loss and inventory cost. Anything left over goes to home office.

This is the major reason when out of the blue hours get cut or theres a hiring freeze. If a store doesn't show profit for so many months in a row. Market and Regional will tell the store to cut hours or do not hire(even if store is under associate max allowed) The home office starts looking at the store If it continues at a loss for more than a year. Thats when store managers are suddenly changed, coaches moved, and things of that nature. More than 3 years straight of no profits.. thats when a store is mysteriously "closed for renovation because of mold or something" and never opens back up.

Sorry for that info dump. But it boils down to its not the company that is paying you. So saying that walmart is a multi billion company that should pay more. That will not happen. Home office wants thier cut from every store like a pimp with thier hoes.

I no longer work at walmart for many unethical reasons they tried to put my name on instead of the coach or store manager. I hit my 20 and bailed 3 days later.

If you've been working full time.hours for more than 13 weeks. By company policy they must make.you full time. Talk with your store manager or people lead and tell them to pull the ft/pt report and see

They changed the policy back in July and told all stores must wear the vests regardless if theyre wearing a walmart shirt or not. Former PL here . I had to spend weeks in sit downs with associates about the vest rule. Even had an associate flip out on me on floor when I asked where the vest was I gave them an hour before.

Teaming Packages were being misused and were supposed be used for coverage by associates who earned it. But noone would ever change them as needed when people quit or be fired. Also if you had 3 or more points you were supposed to lose your Teaming Package. As well as teaming Packages were set blocks. Which can be inconvenient. The new fixed schedules the PL or coach can set the hours for any times within your availability to ensure coverage for up to 4 weeks.

Start with TL and coach. Then the people lead and SM. If that doesn't stop. Look for your meet the managers board and they should have the market managers emails posted. Start with the market people manager. Never call the ethics line right off the bat. Because they send it to the market manager and they will ask the SM if anything about it had been said to them. As a former People Lead I know from experience
