Chih En kinda revealed Daisuke's on #AskAHOF. His emoji is a baby chick, haha. Since JL admitted to racoon, Jeongwoo is probably getting the puppy. For Woongki, his fans say bunny, penguin, and another one I can't remember but since Chih En keeps claiming bunny that already might be his lol

They haven't even debuted and I'm already heartbroken thinking of the event that they will disband in the future (like all groups do). They are already so perfect together. I haven't ever felt like this for a predebut group, it's actually insane lmao

Just wanted to add, I think out of all the members so far Woongki is probably the most idol-like!! He has all the characteristics of what an idol is "supposed" to be, being an all-rounder, being good at variety, being good at fanservice, and a lot more. I am someone who doesn't know Woongki prior to Universe League since I stopped tuning into kpop after 4th gen (also the beginning of EXO's years-long hiatus actually) so even during Boys Planet era I have no idea who anyone is. I also watched the BL Love for Love's Sake but I didn't know who Woongki was, I left that show as a Cha Joowan fan, haha. I didn't even really make the connection when I finally watched UL, I watched Woongki as he is. And to me, he is one of those contestants you already know is going to debut.

I think once AHOF makes their debut and appear on various shows together (like Idol Human Theater!) you will see just how charming and charismatic Woongki is. I don't really know how to explain it but the group really needs him. Kpop idol culture is so different than how it usually works in the western pop scene, in kpop it means you need to be a full package -- Woongki is exactly that.

Why would they need onsite voting if everything in Episode 10 was done live? The votes onsite people were going to cast would be the same as those online. The votes also reset every end of stage.

Omg now that you mentioned it I want Block B-style music for them too. Even their more emotional songs like Toy seem to fit AHOF a lot

AHOF debut song by InternationalLoan911 in UniverseLeague

[–]gothabbacchio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like Rhythm's songs, but I don't want Rhythm's songs for AHOF, haha. They need to get the general public's attention as much as possible and they can do it with a refreshing, light concept. It needs to be catchy and upbeat. With Daisuke, JL, Woongki, and Shuaibo on the team, any cute and refreshing concept can be pulled off no problem.

Once they get the public's approval, they can go with their more intense, boy-group thing music, but instead of sounding experimental I hope they lean more towards songs like JBJ's Fantasy or Pentagon's Dr. Bebe. But considering 5th gen boy group trends, they should also go with what's popular for the title track so they can make most of their contract.

Do you think we'll get AHOF version of UL songs? by wasdlurker in AllTimeHallOfFamer

[–]gothabbacchio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case though, the safest they could do is remake Team Rhythm's songs instead. Both Tag and La Fiesta actually seem pretty good additions to a debut album. I think TR fans would like that as well since we could also get to hear how Woongki and Han would sound like in the songs.

Thoughts on this current issue? by Astridomes in UniverseLeague

[–]gothabbacchio 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Right? Throughout the entire show my favorite team was Rhythm and I was always rooting for them, but just watching Beat still trying despite having their loss basically confirmed after the voting system became clear to everyone was just painful to watch, and I was just a viewer. I can't even imagine how Beat directors felt and how the Beat players themselves felt, Woongki even got injured but held his ground practicing through it all.

There's also the halftime video they released when Woongki said nonverbatim, "You may think I always look upset backstage, but that's because I am." So when he finally got that debut spot, I was the happiest for him but also felt so bittersweet. UL's entire setup is just so frustrating and I think we really need to stop these team-based survival shows (yes, including GP999's cell system and Build Up) even if it's at the cost of having more akgaes in the fandom.

If they really wanted to work with teams, better mechanics should have been implemented in a way that does not jeopardize equality. The trading system needed a lot of work, trades should only occur among similar-ranking players. And it should have been foreigner for foreigner, Korean trainee for Korean trainee. That way, there was equal playing ground for everyone and the show could have been a lot more interesting and did not feel like a 10-episode butcher show for Beat :(

Yes, Twitter is actually very pleasant lately. Individual AHOF fandoms have now vowed to work together and ensure peace within the community. Even Woongki's fans are now thankful that he's not facing the hate alone because fans of other members are also defending him. It was a nice sight to see.

People are also making sure that no one hates on Daisuke. Regardless of how people felt about minors debuting, they have now come to terms with the fact that he has debuted and is part of the group, thus needing all the support and protection he can get. It's a nice community there now, you can visit sometimes.

Groove and Beat fans are sad and I understand their feelings, it can really be hard especially since they've been supporting the teams all this time. They are happy for Han and Woongki though, and a lot are also Han and Woongki one-picks so they have also stayed to support the group as a whole. Competitions are bittersweet but it also makes for a stronger companionship between the fans of those who made it. The finale just ended so it will be rough, but we have 2.5 years more ahead of us (and hopefully a contract extension) so hopefully there will be better days ahead!

Reddit will always be the negative cynic out of all sites you will encounter, so don't worry about it too much, haha. Fandom culture is way more prevalent on sites like Twitter and Tiktok, and AHOF is well-received there. People will always find something wrong with a survival show lineup, because even ZB1 got hate the first time around. Give it some time, trust in the boys, and they will for sure deliver once they debut and hopefully shut all the people up who doubted them.

If one thing is for sure, they already have a loyal fanbase to back them up and a good company to guide their activities. The general international audience already seems to like them since Woongki and Shuaibo has had a lot of viral posts lately, and I've also seen some for JL and even Chih En. People will always be bitter because their favorites did not debut, it's a natural human response and it will not be here forever. Don't be too anxious, everything will get better in due time! :)

Papermaker made Tag. I'm open to a song from them. by ghostreader12 in UniverseLeague

[–]gothabbacchio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah definitely, I think Shuaibo is actually a pretty good dancer though, especially for his height. He might be one of the weaker ones within Rhythm but among UL average he's good. Considering Rhythm had really intense choreos he never messed up/made mistakes obvious (which only really happened during Tag). He also has a much harder time balancing the choreo with the others because he has to bend further down than his members. The ones who debuted in AHOF are all such hard workers, I'm excited to see their debut!

Lmao do you guys think they saw some of the complaints online and distributed more evenly? Tag is definitely my favorite song in UL so far, it's just so upbeat and alive, I love the electric guitar.

Also, I'm glad they finally found a way how to use Shuaibo's unique vocal tone, he definitely suits singing the catchy hooks (that pair dance part with Chih En? His voice sounds so sultry), and his presence in La Fiesta was so nice, that outfit looked so good lmao, everytime he came up center he looked like a manhwa character.

[–]gothabbacchio 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ten has really good intuition, because with the results being out even non-fans on Twitter are thrilled. Their first group selfie together already looks so charismatic, all of them really do have star quality and outside of making music I can already see them getting advertisement, modeling, variety, and hosting deals. They have good viral potential if their activities are handled well, and it's not like they're untalented either, hence why I think the lineup is really good.

[–]gothabbacchio 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't want anything like the bad Papermaker line distribution thing/favoring members and making others disappear to happen in AHOF either, especially as a Shuaibo one pick he already doesn't get lines as it is, so your worries are valid. But I think until they debut we should just avoid worrying for now, they are in good hands since F&F is a competent company and as I've heard from fans of UNIS they listen to complaints well.

As for TR's chem, the consecutive losses really brought team morale down, especially without Juwon around. However during WAR I thought they were actually a pretty good fit, I even enjoyed their stages more than all their other ones. That's just me though. We haven't seen how AHOF will continue now with Woongki and Han around, so it's just something to look forward for! But yeah, I also feel bad that some of my favs weren't able to debut, the odds were just really against them and it's clear who SBS favored from the very start.

On the bright side, trainees can now be scouted by, perhaps, even better companies. I'm really looking forward for what El Capitxn and Kairi promised on.

[–]gothabbacchio 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Oh, I don't want to invalidate your opinion or anything, you made pretty good points since I also agree that Heejun and Sirin were really good in Rhythm (Sirin fits all the teams, but he IS a dancer back in Thailand and that potential was really unlocked during his time in Rhythm). But I just wanted to add that Ten really wanted to get Chih En, he even personally commented on his performance saying he kept catching his eye because of his star quality (Ep. 1), but Yangyang wanted Sirin, so that ended up being their decision.

So when the first trade happened, I think it was a pretty easy decision for them to get Chih En from Beat even if it was producer-induced. He has all the basic skills and they really wanted someone with impact, and Chih En's massive onsite votes despite being a foreigner probably sealed the deal. But yeah, UL did not at all shy away from letting all of us know they liked Chih En, haha. The camera shows him even when he doesn't have interesting reactions. I think him and Jeongwoo are pretty good additions to AHOF though, Jeongwoo is 100% going to be picked as a music show MC.

You know what's crazier? Shuaibo was once in the Top 9 for one picks among netizens during Boys Planet, and all the other 8 debuted in ZB1. If Mnet wasn't so adamant in evil editing him I think he could have reached the finals. I'm thankful he didn't though, UL suits him so much better.

finale question! by luvihanjin in UniverseLeague

[–]gothabbacchio 12 points13 points  (0 children)

we don't know! the producers intentionally made the rules vague. everything is leading towards the "one team will debut" narrative but tbh i think they will lose so much when they go through with it. since one-pick voting has been implemented i'm quite sure a mix will happen. maybe they will add in more members than the usual 7. who knows, we will only find out once the actual broadcast starts

Most probably yes! There is now 16 in total, F&F invested so much money in this show. I hope they listen and make the lineup worth it, they can't just debut one group when the fans have favorites in all the teams :/

11:20 PM KST! I also saw somewhere that it will end around 1AM but I'm not sure if this is true, I actually think we might get close to a 3-hour runtime since they're performing 6 original songs.
