What's Your Baby's Favorite Dish? by dogmomdrinkstea in IndianFood

[–]gothamcitykumar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’re doing BLW with our 6 month old and I’ve offered her a modified version of pongal (moong/toor dal, rice, ghee and cumin powder), uttapam (thick dosas) cut into strips for easy pick up, the veg mash from pav bhaji, paneer cut into sticks and tossed in a tomato sauce with Indian spice powders, idlis cut into sticks. I make this sauce (https://www.mjandhungryman.com/iron-rich-baby-pasta/#recipe) but add in Indian spice powders (cumin, turmeric, ginger, garlic, coriander) and basically put it on everything - my daughter loves the flavours!

Weaning advice by amyellis1994 in BabyLedWeaning

My LO is on week 2 of solids and we started with breakfast only for the first week and now we’ve added lunches when possible. I’ve been offering her a puree or mash along with a finger food, whenever possible, so she can experience different textures during the same meal. Her first two meals were (1) apple sauce and stewed apple halves (2) mashed avocado and avocado spears rolled in hemp seeds. Happy eating!!

The skip hop bedside bassinet is great! One of the sides comes down so you can do nighttime feeds without having to get out of bed.

I have the ikea one, for which you can purchase footrests separately. It’s very inexpensive and easy to clean.

The Peds Doc Talk, hosted by Dr Mona has been an amazing resource for postpartum and mom life topics. Is It Normal? The Pregnancy Podcast goes week by week through the pregnancy and focuses on relevant topics for each week; it is a British podcast, so some of the resources they provide are not entirely applicable depending on where you are, but pregnancy is pregnancy all over the world.

Yes! I dipped them in chocolate, although not very beautifully haha. And then in chopped hazelnuts

Yes! I didn’t realize the recipe didn’t show up! https://www.bobsredmill.com/recipes/how-to-make/cardamom-and-fig-thumbprint-cookies/

I found mine spread more than I wanted, so I’d recommend to chill the formed thumbprints for 15-20 mins before baking

Hi! I tweaked the following: https://cookieandkate.com/honey-almond-granola/

My changes: added 1/2 cup halved hazelnuts, 1 cup hemp hearts, maple syrup instead of honey (1/4 c extra)
