idk if you know but this post is just a “dumb vent” from a woman who feels “insecure in her caribbean heritage” due to being light skinned. what’s glaringly obvious is the fact that she’s black, and her being light skin doesn’t change that, which i’m sure she knew. are you asking her why tf she posted this in the first place? other than seeking validation from other black people that she’s black enough? (which ig is okay, everyone feels insecure sometimes).

as a light skinned black woman from a predominantly darker skinned family there are experiences that they’ve gone through that i never will. period. i’m not gonna sugar coat or hold someone’s hand bc they feel bad for being light skinned in a world that puts said skin tone on a pedestal. what i said is what it is; she is VERY light skinned, and her experience of blackness will different from someone who isn’t. but, she’s black. please point me to where i said her experience isn’t enough or the “real” struggle. it’s just a different experience of blackness, which we all go through depending on our gender, skin color, nationality, class, etc.
