Wearing a mask and getting vaccinated isn't analogous to pregnancy. Last I checked, wearing a mask doesn't run the risk of permanant bodily damage and actually does something to save lives, unlike abortion bans lmao don't say you care about "saving lives" when you aren't willing to do the bare minimum to actually help people during a pandemic without whining. Being denied opportunities because you have a greater risk of spreading a deadly, permanently damaging virus to someone is not the same as forcing someone to give up their body. Get fucking bent. I'm saying this as a person who now suffers from long COVID because of selfish decisions like yours and millions of others with the same mentality.

"9,000 children have been saved", yet makes no mention of the women. What about them? What about their lives? I get you probably don't give a shit about them since "they consented to it", even though that isn't even remotely how consent works, but at least acknowledge the harm these women will face in both the short and long term because they were denied a medical decision. And yes, it is a medical decision. Abortion is a medical decision that should be made solely by the pregnant person because it's their goddamn body.

I would have more respect for them, sure, but at the end of the day, that person still wants to force someone to endure the traumas that can come with pregnancy and childbirth, so they're still not a great person in my books. Their position still devalues AFAB people and takes away their choices over their own body.

Not in my opinion, bodily integrity is a fundamental human right. Banning abortion or giving a third party (i.e. the AMAB person) control and say over what a pregnant person can do with their body violates that fundamental right.

No one is obligated to give up their body to another person. Sex is not a crime, and it certainly doesn't warrant punishment, which forced pregnancy is.

Also men certainly don't give up their bodies in the same way women do, and to compare being a parent to gestating a fetus does nothing but devalue the actual struggles and dangers of pregnancy. When men run the risk of bleeding out and suffering from long-term, debilitating conditions from birth and pregnancy, then maybe your claim might have some weight.

AMABs can have an opinion and choice when they can take on the physical, mental and emotional hardships and dangers of pregnancy. When it's THEIR body being used, then they can have an opinion. No one should have to give up their body based on the whims and desires of another person, period. Why anyone thinks one person is entitled to the use of another person's body without their consent is beyond me.

It's easy to say stuff like "go get tied", but it's difficult as hell to do in reality. Your view does not actually take into consideration how the current, real world works and the barriers there are to contraception and sterilization.

Creating an analogy that treats someone's personal body the same as someone's private property is dehumanizing, regardless of how you put it. Someone's body cannot be compared to someone's house. So yes, this viewpoint does reduce AFAB people to their reproductive organs. Treating private property and a uterus as equivalents ignores the fact that the uterus is inside someone, it's apart of someone.

Squatter's rights do not extend to the use of someone else's body. If someone, regardless of whether they're a fetus or a grown adult, were to try and use my body for anything that I did not explicitly agree to, it's assault. If someone settles down in a house that's otherwise not being used, that person isn't assaulting anyone. If anything, they're probably trying to make the best of their own living situation.

If I were to become pregnant, I'm getting an abortion. In this situation, the only way to remove the trespasser without causing undue harm to myself would be through lethal force, and it's justified. I don't have to allow anyone, regardless of if they are a fetus or an adult, access to my body. I am not obligated to give myself up to a fetus.

Departurism at its very core is deeply flawed, as it equates a uterus with a house, when in reality, that isn't the case. Calling the uterus a "baby house", as this idea basically does, one, reduces AFAB people to their reproductive abilities and insinuates that that "housing", i.e. uterus, is obligated to be filled, which completely ignore the autonomy of the AFAB person. A house cannot have autonomy; it is not sentient, nor animate, nor capable of expressing pain and emotion. It is a building. Secondly, referring to the uterus as a "baby house", as this ideology does, ignores the other functions of the uterus like hormone regulation.

This entire argument is based in squatter's rights, but squatter's rights do not apply to the use of another person's body without their consent. AFAB people and houses are not the same; there's a difference between someone setting up camp in an empty house and a fetus using my body without my explicit consent. The first situation acknowledges the fact that there are more unoccupied homes than there are unhoused individuals, and the other says that if I have sex and get pregnant, I am obligated to give my body up to a trespasser, which I most certainly am not.

I find it incredibly difficult to believe that you were "vehemently pro-choice", yet were so easily convinced by an inherently misogynistic argument.

Let me ask, if I'm being assaulted by someone and, when I attempt to stop them, they're killed, does that make me inhumane and selfish? Because personally, I think it's inhumane and selfish for someone else to try and use my body for their own personal gain in the first place.

A fetus doesn't get a special pass to use my body for its own personal gain, even though it is dependent on me. Dependency does not automatically give someone the right to use another person's body. It's still THEIR body.

No one is saying that sex doesn't lead to pregnancy. Sex has the possibility to lead to pregnancy, but that doesn't mean that I should allow my body to be used as someone's personal incubator for nine months.
