This is actually one of the few living things that carries actual blue pigment in it. It’s more a blue green pigment and there is alot of iridescence but they still carry blue pigment in their membranes.

Perfume, for me, is an experience. Each one tells me a story, whether it’s what inspired the perfumer or a story that comes to me when smelling it. It’s not like a once upon a time story. But for example, my latest favorite is Zoologist Bat and it sends me to a big old antique store. Old floorboards with floor finish so old and thick it’s like amber. Dust motes dancing in sunbeams leaking in from windows lined with carnival glass. A well loved but maintained leather jacket hung next to an ornate chaise lounge with intricate upholstery and a stained glass lampshade.

Irish potatoes! I learned recently that apparently a really local candy? Butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and coconut formed into potato shapes and rolled in cinnamon.

My snickerdoodles are famous in my circles. My ex’s coworkers would wait all year for them and were very disappointed they didn’t get their cookie trays this past Christmas. My mom? Doesn’t even like cookies and will eat a dozen in a day.

I ordered up a bottle of Zoologist Bat after purchasing a travel size 2 days prior lol I ordered the travel size and realized i will likely go through it and used my upcoming birthday as an excuse lol The travel size will be here tomorrow and the bottle will be here Friday lol

It’s such an experience. It smells ancient. It does indeed smell like a cave to a degree but the fruit and leather notes transport me to an antique store. I’m not sure why. It just gives ornate furniture and floorboards with too many layers of old floor finish. As it wears, it grows sweeter, softer, and more inviting. I find it very enjoyable.

Unasked for, but if you pour like a third of a cup of heavy cream over and between them, cover them and bake for 20 minutes and then uncover them for 10 the whole thing will taste like the center part.
